BIG 10 - Preview & Predictions

Article By: NCAA Dynasty League

11.) Minnesota - Gambit725 - (4-8)

- The scheduling gods have done no favors for the Gophers, with matchups against the 5 highest rated Big 10 schools, plus booking a showdown with the Gators. 3-3 in the remaining 6 games, with 1 upset in the previously mentioned 6 would have to be acceptable in the coaches eyes.

10.) Northwestern - taruncheel - (5-7)

- Northwestern is a similar quality team with Minnesota, but doesn't get tied up with a monster schedule. (including missing OSU!) That's good enough for at least 1 more win in my book. NW has some offensive weapons to go with taruncheel's balanced attack. The question will be, can they stop anyone?

9.) Purdue - dealer4014 - (6-6)

- The Boilermakers roster is just plain... well... blah. There's not many standouts on offense or defense, so it really comes down to just how well dealer can coach them up. Purdue was 7-6 last year under a sensational coach (dawgit, now @ USC) and I think deale, coming off 2 seasons at Oklahoma, should be able to get them back to .500.

8.) Illinois - brwnbear - (6-6)

- brwnbear reached his dream job in his 3rd (2.5) season in the NDL. Now he's looking to build his dynasty. A 6-6 finish won't be something that makes the fans go crazy, but it will keep him around for another year, one that should bring quite a bit more talent to the table.

7.) Indiana - LetsGoPeay - (6-6)

- Peay has vowed that the Hoosiers will return to form after 2 good season. I say, Not so fast my friend! Maybe the undefeated start, the 8-5 finish and the final Top 25 rank were way more than they had ever hoped for, but the 6-6 record from season 19 isn't so far fetched. Indiana's passing offense is very precise and should be good enough to win the games they are supposed to win. It's time for 3 consecutive non-losing seasons at IU.

6.) Iowa - oldschoola - (7-5)

- A quality program and a quality coach would normally result in a better record than 7-5. But the 3-6 spots in the Big 10 are extremely balanced. Add that to matchups against both of the big boys (Wisky/OSU), tilts against the 2 Michigan maulers, a non-con matchup vs. a very game USF team and you have a real recipe for disaster. The more the Iowa offense can control the ball, the better chance they'll have to make my projection look silly.

5.) Penn State - JustGiver31 - (7-5)

- I passed on this job at the #2 pick for a reason. Even though it's my dream school and I hope to get back at some point, this year's team is really setup for failure. The QB play can be very inconsistent and the LBs just aren't up to LB-U's standards. JustGiver is one of my favorite coaches to play, so I'm thrilled that he got the job, but this season is going to be a handful. As if the balance in the Big 10 wasn't enough of an uphill battle, he's decided to go balls-out and schedule Oregon, Texas and Oklahoma for non-con matchups. Black shoes, basic blues, no names, all game... bring it Giver!

4.) Michigan - Sammy33 - (8-4)

- Every season I like to jump aboard the bus of my conference favorite. Well count me as a rider of the Wolverine bus this year. Get on now, it's going to be a helluva ride. Sammy is pulling of his own version of spygate, as he's snuck into to the Big 10 a season before his favorite Cornhuskers join the party. He'll look to make some noise with Michigan, then pray for his job to open. And if that doesn't work? He might just keep Michigan and beat down Big Red when they join! I see ya workin'!

3.) Michigan State - Weasel - (9-3)

- The Air Weasel offense kicks off hits 10th season at MSU, following it's first double digit win performance. The passing game is dialed in, but can the defense slow down some of the stiff competition that the Spartans have lined up. The story of this season might be told in week 1, when Lil Bro finally gets to have the more talented team against Big Bro, as MSU hosts Tha U. An opening week lose could send the MSU season spiraling. and if the Spartans handle their work in week 1, UC, OSU and a return to form Michigan will be waiting.

2.) Ohio State - Buckeye76 - (10-2)

- Future Head Commish of the NDL, Buckeye76, is all about taking on big time tasks. As if the NDL wasn't going to be enough, he decided he'd warm up by leading his Buckeyes into war against non-con foes Texas, LSU and Auburn. If Buckeye can get to 10-2, then he can surely handle the future seasons of the NDL.

1.) Wisconsin - BiGmike - (12-0)

- While the Big 10 is loaded with good offenses and is extremely deep, I don't see how anyone is going to be able to stop the rushing attack and precise passing game of Wisconsin. BIGmike + BIG John Clay = BIG TIME RESULTS! After playing the bridesmaid last year, he should be set to add another National Title to his collection.
