Champ's Corner: Week 9

After a short break, I am back in the Corner to bring you a preview of the games ahead. With everything changing I thought this should change as well. Instead of just commenting on every game, I will only the Top 10 games but include another 10 games that missed the Top 10.



The games that didn't make the Top 10:

18. UCLA (3-4) at Arizona (6-0) Cats look to stay unbeaten on their road toward USC FSN 10:00

17. Iowa St (2-2) at Kansas (3-3) Both teams still in the hunt for the Big 12 North title FSN 6:00

16. North Carolina St (2-2) at Florida St (6-1) Can Russell Wilson play the game of his career to upset the Noles? ABC Regional 3:30

15. Washington (2-2) at Stanford (4-2) Both team still in the PAC 10 title race and a Rose Bowl invite ABC Regional 3:30

14. #22 Cincinnati (5-1) at Syracuse (3-2) Can the run game with Carter upset the Bearcats? ESPN2 12:00

13. Connecticut (3-3) at #17 West Virginia (3-1) An upset in Morgantown would right the ship for the Huskies ESPN 7:30 Thurs

12. #21 Florida (2-3) vs Georgia (3-2) The World's Largest Outdoor "Cocktail" Party still is a battle for a trip to Atlanta CBS 3:30

11. Iowa (3-2) at #23 Michigan St (6-1) Sparty in position for the Rose Bowl but the Hawkeyes look to spoil their plans ABC Regional 3:30

10. jeffdaddy12 4-4 (2-2)

at RanDawg 3-1 (1-1) CBSC 5:00

You live by the Bass, you die by the Bass.....can Houston's stubborn defense contain NDL Leading Passer Tyler Bass? Houston will have to keep the ball away from the Memphis Arena League offense with the run game. The Tigers have been exciting but the Cougars will be too much at home. Houston 41 Memphis 35



9. #25 TEEwade 3-2 (3-1)

at 5-3 NBC 2:30

Both teams look to solidify their bowl aspirations with a big win. The Fighting Irish will have to stop the run attack of the Yellowjackets and force them to pass. Looks like the Irish are heading in the right direction and a win here will make them bowl eligible. It's South Bend and Touchdown Jesus that prevail for the Irish. Notre Dame 24 Georgia Tech 21



8. LetsGoPeay 4-0 (1-0)

at Hoos 3-2 (1-1) ESPN 12:00

Yes, Indiana is part of the Top 10 games and no this ain't hoops. The Hoosiers come in with a spotless record however, they are suppose to play the Buckeyes before this game so it is likely Indiana would be 4-1. This game is crucial for both teams chances to actually win the Big Ten or at least be in excellent position for a New Years Day bowl game. Both have those good college QB's so this should be a shootout in Evanston. Tough one to call so in that case home team wins out. Northwestern 38 Indiana 35



7. #5 Steamrollr22 4-0 (2-0)

at texasfan4444 3-3 (2-1) ESPNU 6:00

Oh how one night can change everything as this game didn't make the top 10 until Vanderbilt's upset win over Georgia just last night. Now the Commodores sit atop the SEC East but now fact a very tough Razorbacks team that has yet to lose. Arkansas will have their hands full with the passing of Larry Smith and the running of Warren Norman(looks like he punts as well?). The Vanderbilt defense will have to contain Ryan Mallet. Vanderbilt is having one of those special seasons but they will not have enough to beat the Hogs. Arkansas 31 Vanderbilt 21



6. ChampDizzle 4-3 (1-3)

at LytezOut 3-2 (1-1) ESPN2 7:00

South Carolina had high hopes to make it to Atlanta but that is almost a distant memory but the Vols still have a good chance to win the SEC East. The Gamecocks look to establish Marcus lattimore on the ground against a very tough Tennessee defense. This looks to be a tight low scoring affair and since I will be involved in the game, no prediction, ala Kirk Herbstreit



5. #3 fsupenguin 5-0 (2-0)

at bigred 5-3 (3-2) ABC Regional 3:30

This would be a big win for bigred and Texas Tech to pull this off. They get the Aggies at home. The Aggies look to continue its streak to the Big 12 title game. This will be a classic battle in Lubbock! I smells an upset! Texas Tech 30 Texas A&M 28



4. nick 3-1 (1-1)

at huskerkev84 4-2 (3-1) ESPN 7:30

Both teams already have a loss in the SEC, so 1 more and no chance for Atlanta due to being in the same division with Arkansas, LSU and Alabama. Can the Ole Miss defense handle Cam Newton and his big pockets? Playin at Jordan-Hare at night will not help the Rebel cause....see what I did there? Auburn 34 Mississippi 28



3. #1 walker 017 6-0 (4-0)

at #16 autiger730 3-2 (2-2) ABC Regional 8:00

This would be hands down the top game if it hadn't been for the Ducks hiccups lately. No doubt they have the baddest chick on the forums, they will have trouble stopping USC even in Autzen. Oregon will play tough but the Trojans will pull away late. USC 34 Oregon 17



2. #4 shel311 5-1 (4-0)

at sammy33 5-1 (3-1) ESPN2 10:30

Too veteran coaches square off in the Silicon Valley. To be the #2 game is impressive considering its a WAC school not involving Boise St. Fresno St will have their hands full trying to go against Coach shel's boyfriend Patrick Peterson. LSU will win but by the slightest of margins. LSU 24 Fresno St 21



And finally, NDL Gameday is headed to......

at #12 thedonkeysho 5-1 (2-1) ABC Regional 8:00

Finally after all these seasons, donkeyboy or just plain donkey gets the marquee game of the week! Early, senor donkey said he was riding the coattails of 6ft's season in Boulder last season....not so fast my friend! Colorado is 5-1 and looking to stay atop the Big 12 North, so which donkey will show up.......
