This Week in the NDL...By the Numbers

36.67...Points per game the Air Force Falcons are averaging so far this season, leading the league. However, they are third worst in points against, 37, which would explain their 1-2 record. At just over 300 yards per game, they by far lead the league in rushing though.

20...Current ranking of the Duke Blue Devils. At 4-1, the Blue Devils are not only off to their best start in NDL team history, this is the first time Duke has ever been ranked. They have beaten 2 ranked teams so far this season (USC, Michigan State) and still have 3 more ranked teams on their schedule (Florida State, Virginia Tech, Miami).

19...Number of interceptions Florida International QB Wes Carroll has thrown so far this season, leading the league. With a completion percentage of just over 41%, nearly 1/4 of Caroll's passes are picked off. Incidentally, Carroll also leads the league in touchdown passes, with 11.

11...Longest current losing streak in the NDL. Two people share this streak dating to last season, Beefy and Toro. Beefy's last win was a Week 5 shutout of LGF and New Mexico (his only win last season) while Toro last won in Week 3 against Peay and Indiana.

10...Number of new coaches this season that are in their first full season of play. Their current combined record? 6-31. Welcome to the league guys!

4...Number of ranked teams in each of the BCS conferences, with the exception of the PAC-12, which has 3. If you exclude the PAC-12, the Big 10 and SEC tie for the highest average ranking of their ranked teams with 9 (coincidentally the ranking of the Mountain West's sole ranked team, Boise State). But it's the Big East that currently has the best winning percentage among their ranked teams, with 0.867 (14-2 record).

1...Number of quarterbacks that have yet to throw an interception so far this season with a minimum of 40 pass attempts. Georgia QB Aaron Murray holds that disctinction. Through 3 games, Murray is 32-of-49 for 560 yards and 6 TDs.
