Doesnt mean a thing, Two years ago it was Mich St losing to Grand Valley St, and everyone (media) freaked out. Needless to say, things went fine that season

I agree with Weasel. And from a coaching standpoint in college basketball, there are 2 times that I don't mind seeing a team lose.
1) Beginning of the season- it lets your team know that they are not invincible and if you do not take your opponent seriously, they WILL beat you. It is an eye-opening loss that you can learn alot from but it isn't a disasterous loss that ends your season
2) End of the season, just prior to conference or NCAA tourney- this situation is good when your team has been rolling through conference play and are starting to get a big head and develop that "invincibility" that can bit you in the ass. A loss before the tourney season could refocus a team at a most needed time.

this has happened a bunch during the past few years. good for those kids but all in all no big deal
