Why this draft "sucks"

Post by Nole4real »

As the creator of the 404020 I have to admit I was quite bothered by the "imbalance" of the draft.

I actually started thinking, should I get with the other commishes and perhaps look at a 353530 and was going to really look at an overhaul if it happened again.

BUT, in doing the contracts which I'm working on ow, the culprit is glaringly obvious.

The ratings as they are spread across the 120 teams is HUGELY shifted toward middle of the packers (C+, C, and C- teams)

On 2009 there were 17 "A+,A, A-" teams

on 2010 they are 13

on 2009 there were 19 "B+" teams

on 2010 there are 14

on 2009 there were 54 (yes, Fifty-four), "B, B-" teams

on 2010 there are 32.

That means on 2009 there were 40 teams at C+ or less

on 2010, there are 61

Bottom line is unfortunately there is and will be a larger gap this whole year between the A teams and how many of them are available each season on the 2010 game.

The bright side is when you get a B+ or B you're still getting ateam in the top 30% ratings wise of the league...

and you have a lower rated team...it means the playing field shoul dbe that more level and equal for you.

personally i think it should be 35-35-30. I think even tho we all wanna have fun, it wont be much fun if the same 10-15 get to keep texas, oklahoma, usc, etc etc

neither will matter as the same 10-15 will get to keep/draft the top 10-15 teams

not instigating anything this is just my humble opinion. ;)

I realize that I've only played for 3 seasons..but isn't this called the NDL...(ncaa DYNASTY league)???

Why all the hate about guys keeping teams...I thought that was the point of this league...I guess I could be wrong :?

i would love to keep a team from season to season.
Letsgopeay is the one I think of. He likes Ball State no matter what
that is his team. win/ or lose
I like Texas I will never get them /// EVER!!
I have been searching for a team to keep for a long time but I can't
that is my reason for not keeping teams. I tried with NMSU but the way you play with them
comes across as cheesing.
I don't like keeping a team when I go 0-12 and get points to keep a team?
as I keep rambling about nothing I plan on keeping the team I get this draft I hope
My goal each year is to keep the first team I draft.
I have never been able to keep a team that I have not met the win goal
and I rarely reach my win goal.

I think the dynasty (keeping teams) is great...the only thing is it seems to easy to keep your team.
There was 34 coaches that kept their teams and wonder how many else could have, but decided agaisnt it to move up (I could have kept my team) but when you see major BCS schools going 7-5, 8-4 you would assume they would be availible so you take your chance.
Like I said I like the dynasty idea, but like nick mentioned you have the same group of 10-15 coaches keeping the same top 20 teams with someone occessionaly sneaking in.
When a BCS conf. team who was ranked in the top 10 and goes 7-5 and keeps their team it kinda makes ya think its impossible to get these coaches away from their teams.

I see where everyone is coming from, but personally Id rather stay in a small conf. true I dont get shots at the big boys or title games, but the league is fun either way.

I think a lot of guys are forgetting BANK POINTS.

I will use the example Nole always uses and makes it very realistic when looking at it that way.

A BCS conference school thats is a top 10 school. If they have a season where they go 7-5 or 8-4, are they immediately going to fire that coach? Never

Not to pick on Buckeye but he is a perfect example of this discussion.

Ohio State goes 8-4 as a top 3 team or so last version. They are not going to fire their coach. ESPECIALLY since in the NDL,he still won the Big 10 and made a BCS bowl.

Basically you do your shit, you beat your rivals, and you play the game the way it should be..you deserve to keep any team you want for 20 seasons.

Just adding some more info. Dont forget about those bank points. They are huge.

i wish season success was more important, but i think that'd push this league down the wrong path.

I feel like I'm a good example for the way it is and to keep the status quo. I won the NDL Championship over some dude in Hurley gear with Clemson and got to my actual university, Texas. What I found with Texas was a ridiculously bad team and I went 7-5 (well 8-5 with a bowl win) and got my ass fired.

I then went to MTSU and did well points-wise so i got up to #6 in this draft, but it does suck that I think I lost my only chance with UT

Pretty much agree with all the old timers...the reason I joined the league was the dynasty aspect...I really can't tell you how much I look forward to my LSU/UA game against BFiVL every season. Same with BigMike and LSU/UF now. Knowing that I'm at my fave school, they're at theirs and we play each other. I remember having Ohio State for 3 seasons and having to face Jeffmo at Michigan...that to me is the most exciting thing about the league, having your team and having to work to keep them.

everyone is soooo focused on win goal....

you can use other way to fill that part of the equation...things like , making a bowl...win 3 or 4 road games...beat your rival.. all those things can be done going 7-5.

if you couple that with the doing all your stats, recaps and getting good coaches scores...you and keep pretty much any "B" team

I had UGA last version and went 9-3 ....with perfect participation and coaches reports and lost them...

i believe they were an A+ rated team.

youwant your team? make sure to schedule them OOC and take care of business

There's only 1 way you was able to crun all of those numbers:

Actually I think it looked something like this once he was finished.

I think I see "guess run" in there some place.

Only thing missing is a Nolette sucking on the finger with the wedding band.

What Doodee was trying to say nicely is go 9-3 every season and you will NEVER have LSU.
