HELP PLEASE PS3 NOT DOING WELL ??????

Post by tig5165 »

FUCK.... is all I can say......PLEASE TELL ME I AM NOT SEEING SOMETHING LIKE THE "END OF MY PS3"?????

I went to turn this damn thing on today and all I got was the colored screen and no navigation options....The waves on the screen were moving and the screen has changed colors like it does throughout the day but that is all I got....It will take a disk but does nothing with it....it will power down if I hold the power botton down, but it doesn't do anything with the controller....GOD please tell me this isn't the end with just having this thing for a little over 2 years......Of course the warrenty is up by 4 months.... and to send it to Sony is 150.00 bucks.....WOW....please anyone any tips on what I should/could do to help this damn little thing out.....PLEASEEEEEEEEEE

shit....that sucks....

150.00 bucks....damn....is that the most or could/would it be more?????because I am not sure which direction I am going to go....I can tell you that I really don't want to keep putting 150.00 bucks into this thing every 2 years....I really can say that if I have to send this in I won't be back the rest of this season and as crazy as it sounds probably not next.....I just can't see paying 150.00 bucks every 2 years....I mean I have been in this league since day one but that money is tough to come by esp. if it is a reoccuring issue....

Tig I think I might be right there with ya. Went to play my dynasty tonight and the dam thing froze, for the last 2 hours I have been trying everything I have read online to get it up and running.

The status of my ps3 at the moment , 9 out of 10 times I put the disc in it will not read it, if it does read it then it will eventually freeze. Am I fighting a lost cause and should I also plan on sending my ps3 in for $150.00?

My wife bought it for me 12/1/2007 as a christmas gift.

If you do decide to shell out the $150 this time, then you can start putting away the low amount of $6.25 per month, and 2 years from now when it goes out, you'll have your $150.

yeah it is nuts...because I haven't had any freezing/disk read errors etc....actually no issues with this until now...and even now it isn't freezing up it just doesn't give you any options to do anything....the wavey line is moving etc.....this just really sucks...I agree with the above post....starting my 6.25 a month for the next time this happens....the thing that sucks is you pay so much money for this damn thing and then have to pay another 160.00 bucks to get it fixed.....o well preaching to the choir on this.

The irony in this , I have been trying to save money outside of what we already save, and last week I was up to $160 and last night the PS3 goes out which will cost $149 to repair. At least now I know what I was saving for.

yeah it seems like a scam....I mean why the hell does these 4-5 hundred dollar machines just die after 2 and half years....I mean I am starting to really question do I want to send it back to get fixed? maybe my video game time is up...???????I mean as I said earlier if I am putting an additional 150 every 2 years then this in nuts...give me my old ps2 that last ed me forever with zero issues....

After reading this I vacuumed the fuck out of mine last night. I'm also even considering just removing the outer plastic case and blowing out any dirt or dust I can find with compressed air.

I know that my system kicks the fans on pretty good, but this is consistent and happens whenever it has been on for 10-15 minutes and is spinning a disc. If I'm just playing a demo or searching through the PSN store it stays pretty quiet.

And for some reason I trusted Sony and didn't pay the $50 for the extended warranty, which it sounds like would be a bargain given the recent talk of the cost to repair.

I thought vaccuuming an electronic device was bad due to the static electricity or something?? I have no clue, just what I have heard before.

This is bad bad news going on here.

I am just counting the dats until mine bites the dust.

Maybe Ill trade it in before it dies and get a Wii. :|

Well I found a local licensed dealer that will work on it and let me know if he can fix it, should send it to Sony, or just buy a new one.

Good news is that if he can fix it I should have it back by Monday the 30th and it will cost me $95 flat.

Bad news--If he can't fix it then I will be without my Ps3 for longer than one week.
