Playstation Vue/Youtube TV/Hulu+
Anyone use Playstation Vue? Or any of these others?
I'm considering at least threatening DirecTV with dropping them altogether to at least get free Sunday Ticket and a price drop...
Anyone actually have/use Playstation Vue?

I demo'd Vue and I liked it. Took some getting used to with their interface, wasn't hard though.

If you are just looking for sports, use reddit.
I do not have a reddit account. I just go to their main page, click in the search bar and put in /r/nflstreams or whatever I have listed below.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nflstreams/
They have every game so far. I just found out about it a couple weeks ago and started using it. I will be interested to see if they have all the games during the regular season.
They have feeds for:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CFBStreams/
https://www.reddit.com/r/MLBStreams/
https://www.reddit.com/r/nbastreams/
https://www.reddit.com/r/NHLStreams/
https://www.reddit.com/r/WWEstreams/
And the quality is fantastic. I cast it to my chromecast from my computers chrome browser, then make it full screen.

I get Vue every football season and then cancel when its over.
Easily the best out of all of them that I have tried. The quality, the interface, the DVR function and then of course they are the only one with Red Zone. Also, on the PS4 you can do 4 screens which is clutch for football season.
Highly recommend.

What do you use during the rest of the year? This would be replacing my DirecTV completely. I'd use the redzone, but may have to backdoor the Browns games for the wife either by using my parents Sunday Ticket log in, or streams (trying to avoid, since I'm not always home to set it up)Cnasty wrote:I get Vue every football season and then cancel when its over.

I checked, and they have every channel we need. Just concerned about my internet being strong enough for a full replacement (15-20 up average)

I am not a big TV watcher so I watch a lot of live sports, Netflix, and have an old sign for anything else I may need like HBO etc.

Re: Playstation Vue/Youtube TV/Hulu+
why would you need 4 screens when you have redzone? Unless you have a favorite team and want to watch the other game as well. Redzone is the best thing everCnasty wrote:I get Vue every football season and then cancel when its over.

In this day and age of so many options I cant comprehend why people still have cable.
But again, I probably watch the least TV out of anyone here so not a majority.

My 75" has the ability to play Vue from it by itself. How do I get my other TV's to work with it? I can hook up my 2nd PS4 down in the basement to work that one. But the one in the room and my knuckleheads tv would need something. Don't say firestick, cuz I will have more questions on how that works.

AppleTV, Roku, any of those will work.
The ATV interface is fantastic so that is my vote.
Its just an app like on your phone.

Chromecast, Firestick, Roku, etc. Most of those offer PSVue now.
I like the Chromecast, cause you use your phone, bring up the app, pick what you want to watch, then cast it to the chromecast. Then you can lock your phone and put it away until you want to change something on the screen.

I still have cable because it is $70 for my internet without cable, $99 for a package deal with cable.
I am not going to find a tv service for $30 per month that gives me 210+ channels, DVR, etc.
And with the Comcast X1 system, my son, at 5, can hold the microphone button, tell it Wild Kratts and pick an episode to play.

I just did the math...
DirecTV (Xtra package) is what we have, because it has the channels we "need" to watch (and a shitload we don't)
I pay $120 per month for that, and that's including a $20 per month "loyalty" discount that I get
That's $1,440 a year without NFL package
Vue package I'd need is called "Core" and is 39.99 for first 2 months, then 49.99 after that.
That's $580 a year, and actually includes Red Zone
That's $860 goddamn dollars a year, to get essentially the exact same channels I get now, using the same internet I have now...
As soon as my wife picks up her damn phone so I can explain it, this shit is happening.
