Clarion NZ501 Stereo
Anyone here have a Clarion NZ501 car stereo?
I have an issue with mine and Clarion says they can't help me.
I am trying to see if there is a way to pull the firmware from an existing unit to update mine.

Lol, I was just curious if anyone happens to have one and if so, then I can walk them through maybe how to extract their firmware.

Not all of us can afford a new car every few years or a cool Tesla like some people!

I have a 2016 Sonata I lease, but we have a 1996 Honda Accord that was my wife's grandma's car with like 68,000 miles. It had like 44,000 or something when she gave it to us.
We drive it sparingly, but I bought the stereo for that car to have bluetooth in it.

Re: Clarion NZ501 Stereo
Wasn't a knock at all I just know that the factory car stereos have really stepped up their game the last 5 years or so.
I used to have subwoofers, amps, new car stereos and fiddled with those installations all the time. I get it.
Now i am old and listen to audiobooks and podcasts.

I didn't take it as a knock, was just messing around.
And I agree with you. My Sonata sounds great. My wife's Subaru Outback sounds great and has a factory sub in the back.
They almost all offer a back up camera now with steering wheel controls, bluetooth, etc.

Just another thing we take for granted even just 5 years ago.
Even the most basic cars have bluetooth now, backup cameras (mandated by the US I think now) and all these other tech improvements.
We are so numb to technology updates today because they happen so fast.

Love Android auto. But the one thing that is crazy it knows everywhere I go and is always giving me updates on how far away I am from the location, home, work my hangout bar.The_Niddler wrote:Yeah, my car has Android Auto and it is fantastic.
