Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
Who has bought?
What app/site do you use to purchase/sell?
Just curious.
Was thinking of jumping on the Litecoin train in case it takes off in 2018 like Bitcoin did.
I was just searching through the forums and 4 years ago, I posted that Bitcoin would be the standard in the future, yet, I didn't buy any, DOH!

Can't remember if I mentioned it here or not. My best friends fiancee is in a fantasy football league. Buy in was $300, and they put it all in Bitcoin back in August (she does investment banking at Goldman Sachs). Winner now takes over $20k

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
Its the hot topic around the world!!
Coinbase and GDAX are good to get into the big ones(BTC,ETH,LTC). GDAX smaller fees. CB easier to access with apps and such.
Just got in last week myself on LTC and saw it go from $120 to almost $400 in a week and it was adrenaline sucking. Now its back to $300 or so. I have a little BTC left but have delved into some smaller alternate coins and letting it sit there for 10-15 years.
LTC is the popular choice now because its cheap in relative terms to BTC, easy to buy on CB/GDAX, and everyone is hoping its the next big thing.
Put in as much as you are comfortable with losing and enjoy the ride.

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
I have my money heavily invested in the stock market. My advisor and I met today about Bitcoin/Litecoin and moving some of my investments into it.
I told him I did not feel comfortable because I have had four people and the internet explain to me exactly what it is and I am a dumb ass jock and can not figure out what it is still, lmao!

1 Bitcoin was $400 when I first bought, but I was clueless on it and only doing so for ease of getting that money over to my online poker account lol.

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
I talked to Corey about it over the last few months. I bought around the 600 mark, just sold to pay off the bulk of my debts and take care of some family stuff. Also put a chunk on the house. Feels great

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
Just purchased a .5 litecoin
I was reading and many think it is going to jump up like bitcoin did, so we will see in 5-10 years what happens.
I feel like bitcoin is too high now to purchase? Any thoughts on that?
I can only afford to throw a couple hundred at it right now.

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
Good starting point. I have a good amount of LTC and think it has some potential. Maybe not this insane BTC rise, but it has a lot of room for growth and what its availability and functionality is compared to BTC.The_Niddler wrote:Just purchased a .5 litecoin

You dont have to buy a BTC. Get in at a price you think is good and let it sit. Its on a pretty consistent dip the last couple days but I am waiting to see if it gets back to the $14-15k range before buying more.
Buy what you feel comfortable in losing and enjoy the ride.

Re: Bitcoin/Litecoin/Ethereum
I wish I had the patience to study and invest in the stock market. I just let my 401k do work for me. I do want to put $25k to the side to let a funds manager manage the investment for my son. Had I only knew half of what I know now (which is extremely limited) at his age I wouldn't be working right now and would be retired. As long as he lives under my roof I am taking half of his paycheck and putting it into the fund I set up. Just need to talk to someone because I want to be the primary (or the wife) until he is 27 and then he can do with it what he wants. But I hope he sees how much his wealth has grown and he'll leave it in there to keep growing.Cnasty wrote:Link us, would love to subscribe.TheGobOne wrote:Wow, I didn't expect to see a thread like this here!! As far as crypto currency, I am lost. I remember when it first came out and definitely thought it was a worthless "currency". Could have bought in for dollars back then. Just didn't do any research and thought it was a Ponzi scheme of sorts. I probably should look at litecoin or one of the others that are fairly cheap and throw in a couple of grand just to see what it does in the next 5-10 years.

Both of those are good. I personally love NEO.
You can check me out at http://thegobone.com/youtube
I also have a spreadsheet tracking all the ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) I invested in and other stuff. http://thegobone.com/spreadsheet
This is what keeps me so busy and off these boards so much. That's why I love me the Slack as its quick interactions!
