2047 Winter Meetings Topic #3: 1 free name change

With Corey's approval, with the new alignment and all teams being filled with pretty active owners, I think it would be cool to give each team 1 free name change to use within the next 3 seasons. I feel like there should be a catch though that he can't be a current ML player. My hopes are to be able to create some immersion as we all root for or against our player throughout his entire career. Where's the fun in changing a sure fire HOF'er halfway through his ML career? I know we have a price in place for this but in my 8 seasons so far I can't remember anyone actually doing it. It would obviously be up to the owner if he wants to change anyone (I'm sure Nick feels it to be completely pointless). I'm saying within 3 seasons in case you don't have that perfect prospect you want to follow throughout their career.

I don't mind creating a spreadsheet to keep up with the changes, whatever makes it easier for Corey.

no famous players, movie stars, etc. Just family names, I thought that was fun. Heck, Joey Heath even showed family loyalty and excecuted his player option.

i will say tho. itd be "kinda cool" to begin a "legends era", where we add names to high potential players pre draft.. so top CF Griffey, top 2B Alomar, top SP Pedro Martinez. and theyre in the draft.. no for sure theyll pan out but thatd be "kinda fun"

Look Nick, you can do whatever the hell you want...name him Big Dick Donkey Slayer for all I care. There's absolutely no hiding you're "that guy" that opposes shit just to oppose it. I stated my reason for wanting to change names. I personally would enjoy watching someone go through the ranks of minors and hopefully pan out to a ML player....even more so if he was named after me or someone of my choice. Like I said, you would deem it pointless and you've done just that.

Seeing that you obviously lack in the reading comprehension department, let me point out that I acknowledged a few things....1 that we just realigned, 2 that we have every team with an owner, 3 that most are pretty active, and 4 that if anyone was going to oppose it simply to oppose it, it would be you. Don't change anyone, no one cares. Doesn't affect Nick either way....so therefore it seems like a good time to give everyone a chance to rename a non ML player.

And if all it takes is to name someone Big Dick Donkey Slayer and you bounce then I call dibs.
