Downloading message.... Any help?

So, when I tried to download from our group, and then from Downing as well, I received the following message:

"This PS3 system cannot be activated. This content cannot be used. 5 PS3 systems are already activated for your account. To activate this system, you must deactivate another PS3 system."

Any clue what that means, or how to get around it?

I think it means that 4 other PS3's have downloaded in the past, not necessarily the content trying to be downloaded. This is why deleting a profile deletes the access to that content. I know for sure that 4 others have downloaded from me so I think we are onto something.

Ice, this doesn't help us here because nobody is going to delete me as a profile obviously as they don't want to lose access to the songs they got from me. What I will need to do going forward is set up a new profile each time I download stuff and when it get to 4 others getting stuff from me, create another profile. Annoying, but I don't see any way around it.

Shel, Myself, Outlaw and Steam all downloaded from Shel, but someone else must have downloaded something else from him in the past. That explains why we all could, including you, download from the NDLRocks2 Profile.

As you guys probably saw on my account, the only thing I've EVER downloaded was about 2 or 3 demos.

I got Rock Band and haven't shared any files with any other guys. That was the 1st time I ever changed my password or did any of that stuff.

So, I know without a doubt that the other 4 guys in our group are the only 4 that have ever had access to my account. Hell, I didnt even know how to change my password until Nole showed me how, lol. Also, this PS3 is brand new, maybe less than 6 months old, from when my other one broke and I got this one.

So, I'm still at a loss at to what is going on here.

Have you ever logged in on another ps3? It's the number of ps3 units that are used on it. Is this your second ps3?

That is probably it unless they transferred the hard drive over from the old PS3.

Unless it is the same PS3 and they just fixed it??

This sucks fellas and has me holding my breath in my download group that we somehow dont fuck it up.

It's actually my 3rd. The original broke, they sent me a new one, and after about a couple of days, it broke as well, lol.

So, it still doesnt work.

So, let me get this straight. You aren't able to download ANY of the songs from our download list????

If so, the other 4 of us will just have to give you each $5 for your $20 donation.

If not, and you are able, then I still have no clue what is going on, lol.

I think he CAN get the songs you downloaded into the NDLRock2 ID, but CANNOT get the 2 albums you downloaded into your Shel311 ID.

Your Shel311 ID must be linked up with:

1. your current ps3
2. your old ps3
3. mine
4. steams
5. outlaws

So when ICE goes to download it, there are already 5 PS3s linked and it won't let him do it. If I were to delete the profile I created to gain access to Shel311, then I would lose access to those songs (this is the issue that indeed happened to some of us), and then ICE would be able to link up as the 5th ID.

He IS able to get the songs from NDLRock2 because you take your old ps3 off of the list from above and add in ICEs as the 5th ID.

ICE was NOT able to download stuff that I got myself because I already let 4 others do that (shel, outlaw, steam and nasty) and my ps3 is the 5th.

Downing hit it right on the head. I couldn't get stuff off of your profile, but the group profile I was able to. Downing has the list of the 5 ps3's that have used your name.

We'll definitely figure out and get you the $8 back. Since you only had access to $60 worth of stuff, divide that by 5, and you are owed $12.
