Man, I was excited to play St. Andrews, love that course.

Then I realized, oh yea, probably the last course one would ever want to play when playing no beads for the 1st time is St. Andrews.

i was welcomed with a 3 putt from inside of 10 feet double bogey on hole #1, and another 3 putt bogey on hole 3. I battled back though after 17 putts on the front 9 for a +3.

I was bogey free on the back 9 at -4 until i hit another 3 putt on 18 to finish up even, but 14 putts including that last hole on the back 9. PROGRESS!!!

Putting without beads has been brutal for me. I've had a couple four putts, and tons of three putts

+1

I make it or blow it by the hole by 6 feet. I'm burning the edges and just can't get control of the speed of my swing on the green. I have no issues hitting it straight on any swing difficulty. It is on the green where it affects me. Way too sensitive and nearly impossible to compensate. The mechanics of it are off. They should have left putting alone about three or four games ago, it was perfect.

There have been a few holes where I swear they aren't keeping track of the break properly. I distinctly remember two holes where the putt broke right to left and I had read more break then there was, so I missed just right of the hole. Then, on the comeback putt, where it has to be left to right when you're on the other side of the hole, it broke right to left again. Not impossible, but I'd like to see the beads turned back on for a hole position where that is the case because I'm not exactly sure how that happens.

You gotta remember, these greens are set up like that, where you'll see break changes 2-4 times on a single putt.

I like the putting settings, but PLEASE....no more "rain" with "fast" conditions. It makes every green different. Some were slow as shit, some were fast as shit.

Second round made me want to cry. I was -3 on the front nine, and -3 on the last 6....but I got a triple bogey at 11 after I put my tee shot into that canyon bunker in front of the green. Took me two shots to get out because I was hitting it backwards out of the bunker and you can't see your guy or your swing meter at that camera angle, and it caught the lip and came back in. Only hole the entire round I didn't have a chance at birdie on and didn't get at least par, should've been -5 or -6. Not counting a bunch of near-misses /lipped putts. Ugh.

This is just frustrating. 5 putted one hole. I'm considering just taking this to GameStop before the value drops and putting it towards NCAA at this point.

I love the settings personally. Personally, I missed some putts today cause of speed. Actually 3 putted another green today for a damn Bogey and a 3 putt double (just like real life).

For me it was a rough going on the front, brutal head winds on every hole on the front. It was crazy. I got a bird on the 9th hole to bring me back to par. The 2nd 9 was a little better, I thought I was on my way with Bird/Bird on the back then the double...( ). Finished up -3 on the back 9.

Love the setting Downing...felt like a real British Open with the wind and rain.

I like the settings too. I missed some very make able putts and made some long ones. I made a 45 and a 32 foot putt and missed a 4 ft eagle putt.

Then do it and stop bitching. The rest of us will keep having fun.

Is everyone aware that just like how you can check your lie (down on the left stick when you first get to see your position/shot) you can get down to the green level and see the slope by doing that on the green? This is before you start your golf swing when your guy is just standing there. Helps quite a bit with the putting with no beads.
