Uganda
Re: Uganda
on living social today there was a mt kiliminjaro 10 day hike with airfare food and lodging for 3300 per person.

Re: Uganda
A 5 day climb?! They say you need 7 minimum usually. That would be eff'ing brutal for altitude sickness. Also I don't like how they don't tell you who the tour operator is so its tough to say if they are a good company or not. Not something I want to go in on blind.DRiccio21 wrote:on living social today there was a mt kiliminjaro 10 day hike with airfare food and lodging for 3300 per person.
We will climb Kili some day Dave, but it will take a few months of research on my part to find the best deal. I took a solid 6 weeks to research and book Uganda.

I guess I am just uncultured. Nick said it best to me over IM a few days ago, "Earth is the only inhabitable planet yet I don't want to go to 98% of it."

Watch your step out there. One false step and you may find yourself pulling a boot out of one of Idi Amin's mass graves.Uuaww wrote:I am heading on a safari/gorilla tracking trip to Uganda in May. Jealous of Riccio's trip and had to do one of my own.

Re: Uganda
best part is how hooked you got on guys like that.
like when i was old enough to realize that Kamala was actually just some random black american guy, a little piece of me died inside. i wanted to believe he was really someone that his manager Kim Chee found while on a safari in Uganda.

Personally, I think it is because we were younger, naive and everything was more fun when you were a child.shel311 wrote:Though we may just be falling victim to the thinking that "Everything was better back in our day".
As dave posted about realizing that Kamala was just a normal black guy in makeup, a part of him died...I felt that same way about George "The Animal" Steele.
Once I found out he was a teacher and a regular guy, it lost it's appeal to me. I still watched, but it wasn't the same from that point forward for me.
