2015 Spring Training Underway!

- Spring Training is now underway (see below for schedule). Make sure you organize your rosters now and keep in mind the 40-man roster rules. You should start preparing your roster now for next year.

SCHEDULE
All sims will be simmed overnight with a 10PM Eastern deadline.

Tuesday: One week sim
Wednesday: One week sim
Thursday: One week sim
Friday: Sim to end of ST
Monday: REGULAR SEASON!

Some things to know about Spring Training.

Rust
Each player in OOTP has a certain amount of 'rust' after an offseason. For each at-bat or inning pitched during Spring Training, a player shakes off some of that rust. Therefore, it is important to make sure all your key players get at least some playing time during Spring Training, because rusty players won't perform well.

Learning New Positions
Players learn positions much more quickly when they play them during Spring Training. See Learning New Positions for more information about new positions.

Injuries
Players are slightly more susceptible to injuries during Spring Training.

If I recall correctly, your manager will play a lot of players in Spring Training. However, I can't be sure if it is done like that automatically because I always set my strategies.

Don't do this if you are going to forget to change them back for regular season.

Yeah, we've run into this problem every season. Trendon used to go back and who ever we wanted moved back down but didnt have any options left, he'd manually do it. I believe one of the last two seasons we had, he said that was the last time because in "real life" thats the way it is. I've got a couple of guys that I'm going to have to release/waive or try and trade because I can't send them back down.

well i hear you, but if it was 'real life" i would run a 25 man spring training roster
