Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
I'm not comprehending.
If you have NFL Sunday ticket and you are in your living room near your tv, why would you need your ps3 when you can turn on your directv box???
I guess for any room in the house or if you travel with your ps3??

i don't need to have direct tv... i can just order the nfl ticket thru my ps3.
so for people like me who live in condos or people where directtv isn't available, they can still get NFL ticket but not have to have directtv
seems like huge news to me, unless i'm completely missing what they are saying

Ahhhhh, I get it now!
Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
Sounds good if you follow a team that's not in your market. Picture quality probably depends on your internet speed. When I was looking into the MLB thing on the PS3 I could stream it regular, but it wasn't fast enough to do it in HD or I would have bought it.

Sounds promising... if only I didn't work Sundays.

Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
I'll just find the games on myp2p in HD quality, pull the links up in my PS3 browser, and save $339.

Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
Seems like an insane amount of money.
MLB extra innings was $210 for this season (and you get a lot more games than the NFL package)
NHL Center Ice is around $180 if you get the early bird price before the season starts
NBA League Pass was $180 last season, or for $110 you could pick 7 teams and just get all their games (again pre-season prices/early bird)
Where does the NFL get off charging $339 when there are just 16 games a weekend, 2 are nationally broadcast on Sunday and Monday, leaving 14, and everyone usually gets at least 2 more games on Sunday with local broadcasts (I get three with no local team in LA), leaving 11 or 12. Plus when you get to bye weeks the number of games drops to 14 at the start and sub-10 after the national games. And when you get to late season when there are Thursday and Saturday games sometimes you have fewer than 10 Sunday games that aren't already on tv.
So $339 for somewhere between 10 and 12 games a week vs sub-$200 prices for way more games in the other leagues (over longer seasons).
Pisses me off because I'd love to get this but not at this price.

6 hours at a bar on a sunday i probably spend 100-150 bucks in shots, drinks and food. i generally go to the bar definitely weeks 1-3 while i'm jacked up about the season startign and then i go usually for weeks the Steelers aren't on national TV.
by sitting at home and ordering my favorite 6 pack to be delivered along with my favorite takeout... i'll never leave my couch and have access to every game and save a ton of money and never have to worry about some dick asking the bartender to switch to his game when all the tv's are clearly marked for specific games.
well worth 300 bucks to me.

Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
Dave, I can't tell you the last time I dropped that kind of money at a bar. You're in another stratosphere in comparison to my bar experience.
I can walk to a bar around the corner and watch the Giants game, which is the only game I'd want to watch anyway, have two beers and some food for about $20 total, and walk home.
But yes, this really isn't geared towards me as I don't sit around watching other games until it comes to the playoffs. If I could pay $50 just to get the Giants games (half of which end up on TV anyway in LA because there is no local NFC team), I probably would.
If I were in your shoes and I spent that much at the bar, this is a no brainer.

I continually forget how expensive women are. I've been getting to know/dating three girls over the last couple weeks and I'm quickly remembering.DRiccio21 wrote:i am paying for me and my girl if i'm at the bar.... by myself is probably 50

+1 thats why i have had the package for 16 years now. how much have i saved going to bar, buying tickets to 49ers games, but most important, i dont have to listen to idiots yelling because they lost a 10 dollar 5 team parley card on a interception in overtime the other team returns for a touchdown and they were catching +3.5 points.

guys trying to tell me what the coach should be doing and not be doing. hey buddy, i was playing football when you were still sitting in your dads sack. please dont talk to me. the guy got up and left.
Re: NFL Ticket coming to the PS3
I have the MLB.tv package, which allows me to watch on PS3, among other things. The quality is perfectly fine. I get HD feeds from both home and away affiliates. So, I'm assuming the NFL would do the same, especially with all games being run through a national affiliate (HD will be available).
I wonder if blackout restrictions (like MLB's) will be in effect for the NFL package.
