Roster Shortcut?

Post by NCSUholmey »

I was looking around on the EA Online Dynasty page couple weeks ago, and the new NCAA12 dynasty pages have the same thing.

If you login and go to a dynasty that you are in, go to the team that you want to get the roster for (best if you grab one that started with the real names), click roster, click Download Roster, and then save it once it lets you.

The file gives you the following information for each player on the team you downloaded:

Code: Select all

FirstName	LastName	Position	Year	Overall	Hometown	State	Speed	Strength	Agility	Acceleration	Jumping	Awareness	Stamina	Injury	Break Tackle	Trucking	Elusiveness	Stiff Arm	Spin Move	Juke Move	Carrying	Ball Carrier Vision	Run Block	Run Block Strength	Run Block Footwork	Pass Block	Pass Block Strength	Pass Block Footwork	Impact Blocking	Catching	Spectacular Catch	Catch In Traffic	Route Running	Release	Tackle	Hit Power	Pursuit	Play Recognition	Power Moves	Finesse Moves	Block Shedding	Man Coverage	Zone Coverage	Press	Throw Power	Throw Accuracy	Kick Power	Kick Accuracy	Return
Then, when the season is about to start, go to your team roster page on the NDL2 site, and click the download Excel Template on the roster add page.

Open the NDL excel file and paste each column that you need (first / last / position) and all you have to get off the game or online is the players number. For some reason it does not give you the player jersey number in the download from EA.

I am still trying to figure out the best way to upload these excel files, but at least its an alternative to the +5 roster add

There is a dropdown in one of the top lines that has the full team name for "Air Force Falcons". Click on that and the drop box menu will appear and then change it to your team

I dont think they have decided o nthe ending to this book yet. Its pretty easy really to get the roster ready.
1. I went to OSU's website and found their roster.
2. Highlighted the entire roster and pasted to excel.
3. Used a text to column command to seperate first and last names. This allows you to select a delimiter like a space and move to another column.
4. Went to NDL Rosters page and downloaded the template
5. Did a Find and Replace to chage "Frosh" to "FR", "Soph" to "SO", etc. to match the download template.
6. Copied the colums from first excel sheet to proper column in download template.
7. Changed team name to OKlahoma State

And now its ready to upload once they figure out the proceedure to do so.....all in all it took about 10 minutes to do everything including finding the rosters. We will see what holmey and staff have planned. We may not need to do this at all. I just wanted to see how far we could get with this method.
