Electric Toothbrushes and avi files

Post by brwnbear »

So I got my costco rebate the other day and thinking about spending some of it on an electric toothbrush. I have an appointment with my dentist, who is also a friend, in 2 weeks and I would like to not have to lie about flossing, or lack there off again.

My question is, has anyone used any of the sonic toothbrushes? I was looking at the waterpik model that replaces flossing by shooting water through your teeth. Wondered if it was worth it.

Also, while im bored and the PSN is down, does anyone know where to find the correct codec for an avi file. I got my hands on some p90x video files but I can only get the sound to work.

VLC is also a very, very good media player. I'm not sure if there is anything it can't play.

I have an electric toothbrush and I love it. I think it works much better than manual brushing.

Being married to a dental hygenist, Ill field the toothbrush question.
I have a $200 brush that was given free from the dental office she works at and its amazing.

I dont recommend anyone paying that amount for one, but if you must you will be happy with the result.

What brand and model is it? I heard good things about the waterpik to replace flossing. I really hate to floss... correction, I would really hate to floss if I didnt just do it the weekend before visiting the dentist.

The infomercial says its 83% more effective than flossing. What does your dental hygenist think?

Water pik is fine for heavy particles but it will not remove calculus, otherwise known as plaque.

Doing it before the dentist wont help either. If its there, its there. You need a professional cleaning and then you can start from there with the water piking and electric toothbrush improvement.

I dont know which one it is, but it was like $200 a year ago at Target. Its a Sonicare though. Works wonders.

I hate flossing as well and Im married to a hygenist but the electric toothbrush has made my scheduled cleanings faster due to less plaque for sure.
