I'm more amazed that a solid reliever/bad starter got $95 million

I guess it's hard to think one can see "complete regression" over 3 IP after 600+ IP before that.

Some of that "solid reliever" time was spent feasting off of an unsustainable BABIP.

His ratings certainly did tank, and I obviously noted I never would have given that contract, but at this point I'd waive him as well and be ecstatic if someone claimed him. 3 IP or not, his ratings are mostly shot.

Did his ratings tank or did his stuff drop when his position changed from RP to SP? That's normal in this game.

His stuff as a reliever went from 98 to 57.

His ratings were tanking and he was losing MPH. I didn't need to see him pitch any innings, that's the beauty of OOTP. As far as the BABIP, look at most of my pitchers. While .188 is ridiculously low, his FIP wasn't far off last year. In recent years my teams have focused on defense, so its not abnormal to see low BABIP for my pitchers.

I'll take on his contract for Melvin Cooper, Gordon Aldridge and Dong-Su Chang

That contract is so bad I wouldn't be surprised people won't ask for Antonio Vazquez, and probably rightfully so

That contract is so bad now after the injury it'll take a huge prospect haul. There are only a handful of teams that could even take on a $100m contract like that.

I just assumed there was an injury with his ratings drop. I only looked at his contract

No injury, just insane regression 2 months after signing the extension. And its not a small amount of money, but I have no problem sitting on the contract for two years waiting for his opt outs.

My free agent signing Rick Romero is 3-5 with a 1.69 era and a 1.05 whip.

AL is awful.

Nothing like a 4 game sweep of those bums in Cookeville to get things on track. Unfortunately we follow that up with a 1-0 loss and a blown save vs LA to drop 2 of 3. Not many 5-2 sims for the Greeks the last 2 seasons so we will take it
