C&C 3: Red Alert and Tom Clancy's End War both came out on the PS3. Reviews weren't bad, but I almost always feel that that genre of game suffers on the PS3 vs the PC just from a controls standpoint.

You just can't replicate the precise control movements a mouse gives you and all the possible keyboard combinations with a console controller.

I don't understand why gaming companies do not market games like that for the PS3 and sell a keyboard and mouse for it.
That way they could have the precise movements and possible keyboard combinations and still not require me to have a pc.

I use a wireless keyboard on my ps3 now, so I know that works.

Lost my job last month, just started my new job yesterday. Also, I don't sit and watch the game the entire time. I let it run while I do other stuff around the house, watch tv, whatever.

I've never had one iota of interest in this game, but I am interested in some details on with this disaster was.

the way I understand it the "disaster" stemmed from user needing to be online 100% of the time to play it. There were no 2 ways about it

thats the basic problem. I dont know the details beyond that
Whether you play it alone or with others, you have to be connected to the servers. For almost the entire first week of release, the servers were fucked and no one could play.

The traffic patch helped a lot in the money making department. Traffic doesn't pile up as much at your highway connection. Now the problem is saves being corrupted between user and server. I have lost 3 cities to this. EA has not timeframe on this being fixed.

If you don't mind losing cities, yeah it is playable. There are still some kinks to be worked out.
