Remove the Player Potential Rating

I don't think this is really correct either. First, why do you assume people don't know any better?

If you value a player simply on their potential rating, you dont know any better.

Generally, if someone says they don't want to trade player A because he's 75 overall, that IMO assumes they also like his skill ratings, using the 75 number is an easy way,

But what relevance is the potential? Couldnt you just say "I dont want to trade that player, I like him a lot." As you said, what matters is his skill ratings, not that he has a 75 potential rating.

But a team of 25 players rated 80 is going to always be better than a team with 25 players rated 70. And the team of 70s will be better than the 25 players rated 60. So it's not like there's no value at all to it.

Its pretty obvious to tell who an elite player is. You dont need a rating to tell you hes an 80 for you to know hes an 80. Also, we're talking potential rating, not actual.

Like I said, just because someone says they're not trading player A because he's 80 potential, that doesn't mean he's not trading him solely because he's 80 potential. It's just an easy, quick way to say that guy is really good.

I never understood the difficulty with trading.
Even with scouting on. Does it make it more difficult, sure but, give me a list of guys on my team you like, I will give you a list of guys on your team I like, then see if we can agree on a deal using the those names.
