hey reign, when you go in and make an offer to a FA for Cincinnatti, do you make it from your login as a commish or from your log in as the manager of Cinn?
If you make it from the commish screen it automatically gives you higher priority and makes the free agent sign with you. I let Jesus Lopez go and had a few guys bid on him to see if my theory works. In the future just make sure that you make it from your Cinn login and not as a commish. If you are already doing that no problems.

Thanks,
I realized that was why i was able to always get free agents to sign when i was the commish. thankfully, none of them have ever reached or will reach the majors.

0, 0, 0, 0, 0
Its a found international by Chicago. You wont see the ratings unless you scout him or at the next update. Reign does a search by one of the potential ratings every sim to find guys that are internationals that were not signed else where since they will show up as 0 until the next scouting update. At least that is the theory of my scientific study.
A lot of his top 100 prospect guys are found this way. -- workign theory ----
No thanks to shel, who didnt have the decency to respond.
Oh snap!!
I read that on my phone a couple of days ago on my phone and figured I'd respond later on my computer. This is the first time I've thought of that since.

Pisses me off that the Cobras and Cougars went in completely opposite directions in the final two months. It was fun to actually be competitive for 3/4's of the season finally. Team record in attendance, out of bad contracts now, so might be able to fill in some gaps in the off-season. We'll see how it goes.
Congrats really to Beefy in his first post-season and Division Title. Thanks also goes to him for helping me when I was on vacation and unable to access the computer.
- Old playoff roster system isn't being used any longer.
- I do my org overview, pitching staff, lineups, personnel, waiver and fa transactions as my team.
- Normal routine, sign on as Cincy coach, go to org overview, adjust all levels, go to pitching rotations, adjust appropriately for all levels, go to hitting lineups, adjust appropriately for all levels, go to 7 day ML lineup, fill it out, go to waiver wire, laugh, rarely ever do anything, go to free agency (top secret powerful section that no one has access to), cycle through all players, giggle at how many of these guys have played for NY's system, hopefully find someone that hasn't, make offer, go to home screen, delete mail, export, switch logins, delete mail, go to control screen, import, save, process trades, save, advance 1 day, advance another day, fml, dfas, sonofabitch, fix dfas, advance remaining days individually, go to control panel, save, upload main file... wait ... wait... wait... upload website... wait... wait... wait... confirm website upload, post in forums.
(There's a snapshot of my process... somewhere in there I'm enjoying a Diet Dew, skimming the forums, checking out ESPN or working)
- While I get that I can do all of this from my main account, I don't want to. I try to keep any work on my team on my account and only head to the main account when I'm doing the sim stuff. Have I ever used my commish account, yes, sure, in a pinch, but it's rare. It probably has to do with my OCD on wanting to see all of my team emails and then deleting them all as I review them. I hate emails in my inbox IRL and in the game.
- Interesting note on signing FAs due to using a commish account. I'm not totally sure that is the case though, but it is something I can test. I do know if the commish account is left on a team at the end of the season, the commish account can be award the manager of the year, so maybe there is something to it. I'm now 2-1 that I know of this season on my finds (I'm thinking I've had 4-6 this season). I've always thought it had to do with how good the organization was, not much different than normal FA and how it appeals to players. I used to lose tons of players to you and NY, but over the last 2-3 seasons, I seem to be better than 50/50 in those battles. I've had a handful get away, but I was just chalking it up to my overall team getting better and more appealing.
- As for how I'm finding the guys, I've hinted before, but I've submitted to just using the crystal ball theory.
- Have I missed anything else? I skimmed a lot of today's posts.

There is no "playoff eligible" roster. Doesnt it ussually show up or did you get rid of it?
To be more specific, I wasn't even sure at first this is what it did. When I went to the day after the season ended, NY flagged as having an illegal amount of players on their roster. On the org screen, for instance, they show something like 34/25. So I was curious if we were going to run into a problem of non-playoff teams being forced to get to 25... the answer to that is no. I checked a non-playoff team (forget who) and they were 34/40. I thought that was odd, but it's how the game does it under this format. I do have some reservations about this setup, but we'll see if it's anything that I need to address later. Playoff teams just use the normal active roster rules, with 25.
