Season Showdown..ON or OFF

Post by Steamrollr22 »

What do you guys think?.. I for one think it should be manditory that you have it on for league games.. but there is an upside and downside I see to both..

Season Showdown OFF- I for one feel like my opponent cares about winning therefore would like to try and hide his play by keeping it off.(Since you cant see if they are jumping the snap, playing the pass etc).

Season Showdown ON- Someone that doesnt agree with the use of jump snap/play pass will start to dock you on coach reports because it worked too much or came up on the screen too much.(even though they throw 80% of the time themselves or whatever..haha)

I think that you should be required to have it on so that you can combat your opponent easier for such short games. You cant tell by simply looking at the defense when your opppoent jumps the snap or plays the pass and his Season Showdown is off. Seems a little fishy and like your trying to gain an advantage over your oppponent. IMO

What do u guys think on this one?

****AFTER REVIEW...The jump snap does come up ..while the play pass and key run or anything that rewards for strategy points do not appear when you are playing with season showdown off..

i say ON. forthe reasons above. without it you cant really call him out on it and ask him to turn that BS off. "run" in particular since thats the one thats banned. I gurantee that if we grade based on what we see and use coaching reports correctly the commishes will see the trend and take action.

Jump the snap and play the pass is not illegal, so it shouldnt be docked, if they play aggresive, jump the snap is done by the cpu. Do a couple of fake huts and get some offsides on em if they do it too much.

I think someone using the justification of you throw the ball 80% of the game or more, as a justification to using jump the snap/ along with play pass every play is complete bs.

I ll tolarate the play pass feature all game, specially since I throw so much. That is my fault I should figure out how to run the ball a little more.. but do also use jump snap every play so you can blitz only 3 or 4 to get the immidate pressure you want and play coverage cause you using both jump snap every play with play pass .. Is weak ... very weak...

Specially since fake the snap does not alway work on preventing the jump snap feature on.. because they dont jump offsides, and instead you get false start calls.

Put conservative on, it will help if you are getting those false starts.

well I only get them... when trying to get the def to jump .. which is normally after I have observed that jump snap is on every play. And I m intentionally trying to get an offsides.. and on my 4th fake snap. lol

Im trying ..they dont call me computer illiterate for nothing...Ill work on it..im still waitin on that new sig from you anyway..haha :D

How come this always gets back to the use of these features..... or the justification of use at least....thats not what i meant.. Weve had that debate..haha..
Should you HAVE to have season showdown on so your opponent can see what you are doing? I think so..

Some of us never knew how to turn it on and haven't gone back to it. Mine is off but I certainly am not trying to hide something. Isn't this the NDL??

I think it is just to help coaches know whether or not your oppenent is jumping the snap every down or what not. So it helps the offense coach actually combat this.. Cause unless the words come.. you could be getting blown up all game because of this feature and never know why.
So never have the chance to try to draw a penalty or what not, - It was more of a question on his part.. Or If your oppenent is guess pass play often.. maybe that is a que to run a running play things like that..

Stem is just asking, should it be left on as something to help with gameplanning more then anything.

I'm not against turning it on if there are legitimate reasons. I just don't think anybody in the NDL should be trying to hide stuff. Are people really calling jump the snap all game? All these gimmicks in this game are BS.

Definitely needs to be on... I would say theres a good majority of guys in this league like me that consider themselves "button pushers".. I will never be more than a .500 owner and I am fine with that. I play the game for fun and couldnt tell you from one play to the next if my opponent is using any kind of cheese against me. If I am getting blown up I consider my opponent "That Good" and take the beating knowing he is playing fair just like me. Now if he is jumping the snap, run guessing , line crashing etc.. I have no clue but I do know from playing online in a few lobby games that I know when my opponent is doing that cheeseball shit because of the season showdown points. Why wouldnt we make that a rule in the NDL to police ourselves? Things like that are easy to abuse and whether we like it or not there are people out there that will pull out a few cheap plays to get a little edge and the win....

I just cant see a legitimate reason to NOT have it on.

This is exactly it for me.. After a few more games and further consideration, I will not play someone with mine on when theirs is off. It creates an advantage for one player no doubt. I could be fine playing both off...But would rather see them both on...
I think you should not be afraid to let your opponent know why what happend just happend....its not like we can sit up in the box and review the plays while the D is out there.

No, it is not stupid. I don't even know what it is let alone where you toggle the feature.
