Real bummer to hear that he's walking away. I think you're being a bit harsh on what the overall impact will be the the defense though. I think the Steelers got great value in DeMarvin Leal in the draft and if Alex Highsmith takes another step up from last season, your 4 linebacker set of Watt, Highsmith, Bush and Jack is top tier. Minkah and Edmunds at S are strong, KuJo is a nice backup there and I know CB is thin, but I think Levi Wallace is a solid CB. Could be a depth issue though, especially when matching up against Cincinnati (feels odd to give them credit).DRiccio21 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 3:32 pm Stephon Tuitt retired today
He didn’t play last year as he took a year off after his brother died.
Arguably as good as anyone on our d 2 years ago besides Watt. Huge blow for the Steelers who could have had a top d with him (and we needed to have one to keep up in this division).
I was optimistic if he came back our d was good enough to contend for a playoff spot, now I’m with the consensus that we are likely lucky to be 3rd/4th in the division and probably a good shot we come in last. Even last place in our division we will be competitive but blah
I think the Steelers season comes down to QB (obviously), OL (a lot of youth) and whether or not the coaching staff can figure out how to get the most out of the run game/offense with those 2 areas in question.
