2nd and 3rd line i messed up and used the same vowels in same order
took me forever to think of a word for the last line, i knew the first letter had to be A and i knew the last two were EY and i couldn't think of any other word

All that talk of fearing the double letter yesterday paid off... also helped that you don't get a ding against you for putting words that don't exist, lol.

STEAM - Hit the EA and with 2 vowels and limited locations, decided to stick with them today
GRADE - Moved the A forward and E to the end
NAVEL - Moved the A forward and E to the 4th spot
ABBEY - With E in 4, I couldn't find an EA ending that fit with my remaining consonants, so I went with A beginnings. I thought I nailed it! ACHEY! Yeah, not a word. I should stick to math. Worked out though, because ABBEY was all that I could find left, so I fired at the double letter, even though I didn't think I'd get much value out of it if I was wrong.

I knew the first letter from the first try, 4th letter after 2nd guess. 3rd try I just went with a word without those letters to try and get more of a clue

By cheat I accepted I wasn’t gonna get it and just looked up 5 letter words. I didn’t even fill it in.

Ouch. I played super aggressive off of the tee on the 2nd round and paid for it. Though I had a quad on a hole. I was looking at my marker and I normally do the adjustments in my head... So I had +5 for the wind, +2 for the lie/club, +15 for the drop. Yup... adding 15yds on the lower elevation means I was 30yds the wrong way and sending it for a swim in the moat. Then it put me on the backside, still elevated 60' and short-sided, so stupid me decides to land it short-sided and failed 2x.
