2088 Division Draft (Realignment)
2088 Division Draft (Realignment)
Good day gentlemen. Welcome to the 2088 Division Draft!
Let me start with this first and foremost.....if your preference is to stay in the division you are currently in you WILL NOT MOVE (barring some insane circumstances I haven't thought of).
The rules are as follows:
1) Average the last 10 year's wins for all teams (I know this is lame for newer owners but there's no way around it I can think of).
2) Create 5 tiers of 6 teams each. Fill all the tiers descending with the avg win totals.
3) Each team can choose a preferred division (or no preference if they don't care).
4) Each Tier 1 team will "anchor" a division. After that all Tier 2 teams will be spread out through each division based on win totals and preference. And so on throughout the the rest of the tiers.
The goal here is as much parity as possible. The only real concern I have is if 10 years is enough (thought of doing 20). Please bring up any concerns or discussions you have here.
Please post your preferred division in this thread or message me on Slack. Even if you don't have a preference I would like to know for balancing reasons.
I have created a spreadsheet where I am tracking everything for you gents to keep track. Obviously this season isn't over so it may affect the tier groupings. I will update after the final sim of the season.
We need to have this completed by the rollover so I can change divisions during that time.

Already won a title in the AL West and the NL West. If i get the title hear do I try to get a title in all the divisions? I would already have won in half the divisions! Call me McGregorGeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:32 amnot a fucking chance!

Re: 2088 Division Draft (Realignment)
Just throwing this out there. Should we have Edmonton in the first tier with no owner? Possibly move up Philly and drop Edmonton to the 2nd or 3rd tier....or even last since there isn't an owner.

Yes, I like this idea.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:54 am Just throwing this out there. Should we have Edmonton in the first tier with no owner? Possibly move up Philly and drop Edmonton to the 2nd or 3rd tier....or even last since there isn't an owner.

Just keep me in the AL. I don't care which one. If I have to say West to fulfill this request then so be it.

Bowie's 2081 win total says 11 instead of 111 and yet they're still in tier 1.

San Diego can stay put. Really makes no sense to go anywhere else.

Re: 2088 Division Draft (Realignment)
In my opinion, a 20 year cycle is dumb. The years captured in the data should be the same number of years as it is between realignments. So if you realign every ten years, use ten years of wins.
Put me in George's division. I want a front row seat when my window opens.

Ya that's what I ultimately decided as well.Blanco wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 12:46 pm In my opinion, a 20 year cycle is dumb. The years captured in the data should be the same number of years as it is between realignments. So if you realign every ten years, use ten years of wins.
