My SS has 19 errors at the all star break. I doubt that will bite me in the ass come playoff time

Fun fact. I was checking out all the stats settings yesterday and for some reason SS have 1.3 setting on errors and RF has .850. It's a pretty wonky setup lol.

Defense confuses the hell out of me in this game.

I have highly rated defenders all over the field but almost dead last in efficiency and ZR.

agree! I've had the same team the last 3 years and I've been middle of the road, near last and then near first the last 3 years.

These are our Position Modifiers currently. I have no clue who set them up or if they are based on a certain year (I doubt it) but they are definitely janky in some spots. And I lied. It's actually 1.5 rating so our SS will make 50% MORE errors than default. Something I think we should for sure discuss during offseason as obviously, changing defensive metrics will lower runs scored.

We all should be made aware of all these behind the scenes numbers so we all have the same insight as the commissioners to build our teams. These behind the scene numbers gives an advantage that all of us are not privy to

Right, I didn't choose any of those numbers. That's what they were set to when I looked. I 100% would love to set them to 1.000 as that makes the most sense. I'm not going to do it mid-season though but this will 100% be a Winter Meeting topic.

I mean for the position modifiers. Basically just setting them back to default. 1.000 for all position modifiers and the default pic I showed above for the other settings.

I never touched or paid attention to those defensive modifiers so not sure where they started or change as you port to a new version but I would not just set everything to 1.0. Those things are touchy. I think Ryan should just gradually change the extreme ones like SS errors by going to 1.4 and seeing how it goes then 1.3 and 1.25 and do that season by season and you will get to a place you like it. Changing them all to 1.0 will be an extreme change to things

Ya they could have evolved over time by the game settings as that's an option. Will post something in the offseason about biting the bullet and putting them all to default or moving them something like 25%/33% a year until they get to default.

I think everything that is "behind the scenes" should be brought to light for everyone else to know. This could be viewed as an advantage of the commissioners if they know the defensive metrics of position players or the pitching ability of starters
