League batting avg the past 3 seasons has hovered around .240 but is now at .270.

League ERA around 3.80 ish past 3 seasons and now 4.70 ish.
It makes zero sense on the why it's back though. Nothing changed

I've tinkered with a few modifiers in the last two offseason to help boost offense a bit to get it back to normal levels and away from the real life HR/strikeout every at bat like real life. I did not notice a change last year and this year it kicked in much more. I know we we have super high averages at the top of the leaderboard right now but the league avg is .273. My goal was to get it somewhere between .260-.270 so its not far off from where I'd like it.

Everyone needs to understand that it is all relative and it is basically setting a baseline. So if the game default modifiers say we want league average .234 and this many HRs in a season and I change them it is just changing the baseline we are shooting for. It does not give anyone any kind of advantage so don't bitch at me for not making a poll or something. I discussed this stuff with a few commissioners and Neurotic who does it in the Dugout as well before tinkering. I'll find the sweet spot and we will be set until OOTP 23.

I think it's perfect. It's nice seeing guys hitting .270 instead of .220 with a 85 contact rating

Feels a lot why my team suddenly went from 117 wins to under .500 in 83. Offense was fucking sus last year. Esp when I built my whole lineup on the premise of the HR standard. Understand about the changes but a heads up would have been nice.

Also changing things doesn’t change team construction. If you built for power and succeed because the average team hits 200 HRs and you hit 250 then a modifier changes and league average is 225 and you hit 275 it’s the same thing.

Easiest way to tinker with things is make a copy of our league and make the changes and sim a year or two in that other league and see what happens.
I know it won't be exact, due to the randomness built into OOTP, but it will give you a darn good idea.
Just something to think about instead of making the changes here until you feel you have the settings right.

I do like it though.

Sorry I have to agree on this one. I get it was for the better. Yellow lefts have ruled the sim world for years. Knowing that has changed a bit would have been nice. We are now in the Softball beer league times.

I have zero issues with the ever so slight changes Billy made. The game changes quite a bit every time we switch versions. No one seems to care (except me  ) This doesn't really seem different in my opinion

as someone mentioned..... and 85 contact guy shouldn't be hitting .240. Maybe an 'off year', but for the most part they shouldn't. the stub pitchers seem to still be thriving and we got some fun offensive stats to check out

I don't see the problem. I trust Billy has our best interests in mind

The Chicago Cucks and the Omaha Beef are the only two teams in the NDL where every starter has at least 20 RBI's.

The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks and the Omaha Beef are the only two teams not to have a guy in double digits for HR's. Philly has 2 guys with 8 and the Beef has 1 guy with 7.

Don't get me wrong. I have zero problem with the change just the way it was executed in secret. How many guys knew about it? At least 2 teams. Just seems like a weird thing to not mention is all I'm saying.

I agree with it needed to be changed for a while now. And Agree with not getting a heads up about it is alittle weird. Changing the state of the game minor as you think is a big change. Case in point killing the yellow lefty's thing years it was unchecked. We will adjust and move on.
