Because with OOTP, ratings slowly grow over time, sort of like a power creep. It's the game's way of signifying players get consistently better as time goes by, which has been true over time. 60 contact in 2040 is equal to or worse than 50 in 2010.
This seems correct; which pisses me off. Won't find that info in the manual anywhere. 60 contact in 2010 should be the same as 60 contact in 3076. Absolutely stupid for it to work any other way IMO.

While I'm here I'm gonna give a shout out to my boy Hollis Curry. 39 Overall putting up All-star numbers. This game is hilarious. Just turn off OVR/POT at this point please Billy.

If it does work that way then the scale should adjust as well, right?

Is it that way with stuff as well?

No wonder this game is so confusing ratings wise.

May as well turn off all ratings then lol.

His skill ratings don't suggest he's an ML starter either, much less an All Star level dude.

It's also been 7 starts, give it time. Sample size!

Ya, I'm sure he won't keep it up but with a .311 BABIP he's not even getting lucky. Peripherals look really good too 8/2/0.6 K/B/HR/9. I gotta take the callup wins where I can. Typically, my callups are awful for months.

Did anyone else have the scouting on their entire org basically drop to Average or lower? I do the Team Scout thing every sim and this sim I had 166 guys to scout. Normally I have like 10ish. Weird.

I didn't have that happen, but I have a handful of guys I've scouted multiple times (3+ times) the past several sims and they're all either Low or Avg.

Are you sure you didn't have it on OSA rating scale on accident?

Big week against a Seattle squad scratching and clawing their way back in to the NL Central race. Going to need MJ to step up and hold off Alabama so I don't lose any ground!

Carlos Garza has lost 11 straight decisions for the Smokies. He still hasn't won a gosh darn game and it's almost July. I don't know I've ever seen that in all my offline days

Once again the AI has a weak bench hitter, really only there for his defensive prowess, PH for a very solid bat. The dude is not on my pinch hitter list. WHY???!!!

I watched the first game. You had runnings on base with less then 2 outs early a ton of times. I was lucky to win that one. Yes i am the guy that hide's the score's and look's at the game haha early in the pandemic when we had no sports i started this.
