Maybe it's just a coincidence. But I hated the fact that we HAD to get rid of them. It should have been left as an option, hire them or dont. Winter meeting next year

drafts have been garbage for 10+ seasons ....remind me why you guys are 'surprised'GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 11:38 amI've noticed the same. And it's not like we have extremely dominant pitching going on either right now.plasma1896 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 11:29 am coaches maybe? ive been noticing the last 3 seasons . its like 70s baseball. if you hit .301 you probably won the batting title.

As long as people know the average NL average last year was .246 in the MLB.

I think we have established long ago that this is a great league, but its "sim" in pretty much name onlynick wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:59 pm As long as people know the average NL average last year was .246 in the MLB.

we can't in one breath talk about how the average relates to real life and then in the next discuss not having coaches

Re: 2078 Season Thread... 2 Rings for the Wings
But Nick is right. The developers are trying to mirror real baseball which is why in 21 we see so many low contact/high power/high strikeout dudes. That is all baseball is now
Re: 2078 Season Thread... 2 Rings for the Wings
Just stop. Having coaches has literally nothing to do with this. There were teams that weren't even using them. You also have teams that have a minor league team with 8 players on it. Don't sit here and whine about how the league isn't "sim".

Man, that easy sweep of Seattle would have felt much better if I didn’t drop 2 of 3 to those Cookeville bums.
Re: 2078 Season Thread... 2 Rings for the Wings
It's like this in another league I'm in as well. They have coaches still. Hitting down across the board. Pitchers running wild.

according to that reference page, NL BA was lower last year than every season in the 70's except for 1978. Thats not a good sign for baseball, is it?

9 home games so far....
Some of those pitchers seem to be doing...I don't know, okay...though.

Well, we're hangin' tough despite a league low 6 home games (vs 26 road games). The rest of the gang who have played 20+ road games have a cumulative .433 win%, so I'll definitely take being a tick over .500
Plus we haven't even faced the starving soldiers of DPRK yet.
Now if only Billy would stop injuring all of my SPs, we could make some headway
