a dripping faucet and water pressure issues is apples to oranges. it would be comparable to if someone msgd you about coming over to help put them to sleep through anesthesiology.

No, going to a friends restaurant and asking for plumbing advice is apples to oranges.
I would expect to pay at a friends restaurant.

friends help friends for free. the beer is just a throw in.nick wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:00 pm I hope you guys go to your local friends businesses like restaurants and barter free meals for you know... whatever it is you folks specialize in.
All I know is if I make 45/hour as a union plumber, I’m not spending my time off checking your plumbing for a pack of beer.

Re: Random Discussions
Quick housing update:
- Got the keys to the new house tonight. Some new appliances coming in tomorrow. Some new furniture Friday. We'll pack up the rest of the little stuff the next 2 nights and should be mostly out of here by Saturday night.
- I was initially selling FSBO. Had a slick setup, had it listed a few places, signage, brochures, etc. Then my workload went crazy over the weekend and late Monday I called up a friend that's a realtor and asked him to help me out. (Nick, will love this) I sent him my info, pics etc and we wrote up an agreement for 1%.
- He had it posted Tuesday morning. First showing slot for today was nearly immediately taken. I prepped it last night while I stayed up listening to the election stuff. Showing went great.
- They submitted an offer over listing, they pay closing. Had a couple small contingencies. Negotiated those mostly out and just waiting on the final acceptance. Hopefully coming through tonight. If all goes well with their lending / no major home inspection issues, we'll be wrapped up before Christmas.

Re: Random Discussions
Good luck and hope everything came thru as you wanted.
We are still in the process of getting the house together. Downsizing and then trying to figure out how and where to put your shot at is exhausting

Re: Random Discussions
FML... between moving and a huge meeting this morning to prepare for, I've rarely slept since last Wednesday. On a positive note, we've got everything out of the old house (basketball hoop/trampoline are still there, I'll figure those out later). We're physically in the new house, though a lot of unboxing to do and I've got a small storage facility to clear out. Everything is up and running here and the rooms are generally put together. They f'd up our new washing machine when they came for delivery last Thu, so we're w/o until Wed. We picked out a new modular furniture setup last night, but they're 8 weeks out right now. I've got 2 of the 3 beds built and the 3rd should be done tonight. Overall, it was hell, but it's mostly behind us. Home inspection is wrapping up at the other house right now and then it's into contingency negotiations... hopefully nothing crazy out of that.

You guys don’t have friends that can move for you for a case of beer?
