I agree, why not tackle him down or tase him. They probably felt no matter what happened the officers were going to get blasted by media/public opinion. If they tased him people would have second guessed why not just wrestle him down. If they wrestled him down people would have wondered why they didn't just talk him down. I'd hate to be a police officer right now, it's almost as if whatever they do it's not the right choice.

Re: Random Discussions
If they tackled him and cuffed him there and its on video, it would have been no big deal. What they did do is murder.

Yea, George is reaching there for sure.
We would never have known about this had they tackled the guy and it was on video.

Re: Random Discussions
I think in today's world with how some of these high profile murders/shootings have happened I wouldn't be surprised if it wouldn't have been blown up bigger than it should have if they tackled him.

But he wouldn't have been shot(most likely)GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 1:11 pm I think in today's world with how some of these high profile murders/shootings have happened I wouldn't be surprised if it wouldn't have been blown up bigger than it should have if they tackled him.
Cops tackle dudes and arrested them I'd imagine in the 100s if not 1000s on a daily basis. We don't ever hear about that, why would we have in this case?
Name the last case that has blown up because a cop tackled a perp.

Re: Random Discussions
Just to be clear, I tink the cops were in the wrong for not stopping him before he even got around the front of the vehicle. Even if there was a gun in the cab it should have never gotten to that point. I wonder why they even had their guns drawn in the first place. There HAS to be more to this than just the cell phone video

Re: Random Discussions
We, myself included, may have jumped to conclusions, as we always do.
This is just one witness account so obviously not proven fact, but can at least shed light on potentially why the cops didn't try to tackle him:

This actually does make sense too because apparently the cops all in one moment jumped back and drew their guns, so that could be the moment they saw a knife on him.The man who claimed to have made the video, 22-year-old Raysean White, told the Associated Press he saw Blake scuffling with three officers and heard them yell, “Drop the knife! Drop the knife!” before the gunfire erupted. He said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands.

It's ok, you can still go out and burn your city down tonight. Be sure to target the small businesses in your community though, they are the real problem.

Re: Random Discussions
they never once found a knife. stop defending 3 cops who shoot a person 7 times. its embarrassing. you guys are more concerned about small businesses than human lives. what a joke.

Re: Random Discussions
Do you have a link to the investigation confirming they didn't find a knife?
I did a Google search and do not see anywhere that it was confirmed he did or didn't have a knife.
1 cool thing about this is that you don't have to choose 1 or the other, you can care about both.
Re: Random Discussions
you just used a quote and the final line is " He said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands."

apparently has a knife in his left hand.. the cops can CHASE HIM!!! no problem cause they fear that knife

Oh look still chasing him guns out.. hes going after no one..

Cop grabs him.. he should of stabbed the cop now with his trusty knife right? Still ignoring the cop going to his car

bang bang bang bang bang bang bang

Re: Random Discussions
all 3 cops could of jumped him if he was a threat and never got hurt. at worst he'd of stabbed himself falling on his knife?
the reality is all 3 of those cops would get their asses kicked by this guy and they were scared.

Re: Random Discussions
But you said they never found a knife. This quote is irrelevant to whether they found a knife. The guy was also filming on his phone from across the street. I'm sure he's telling the truth that he didn't see a knife, but that doesn't mean the guy didn't have a knife.
You played it off as fact that the cops never found a knife, and it seems like you're conceding that you, I don't know, lied about it? At the least, you're admitted what you stated before is not correct, so there's that.

Read what I said...what I said is what I think.
I never said the shooting was justified. All you gotta do is read what I said, it's really not hard.
Also stop saying things as fact that you know darn well aren't fact, that would help too.

As in they didn't turn it on or didn't have any body cams?

Re: Random Discussions
FOX News said the city was given x amount of dollars for their police force (I believe they said $5M) and they used it on other things rather than getting body cams.
This is something the federal government should just buy for each police force. They waste enough money on crap that would provide nothing to the average American. Body cams protect police officers and victims of police violence alike.
