Re: Random Discussions
Ridiculousness is funny! If the wife and I are cooking together and we are just BS'ing we'll have it on in the background.
It's funny how MTV, VH1, BET, CMT (not sure if there are any other music stations out there) do not show any music videos anymore

Yea, it just seems like a great show to have on in the background, so I guess that's where things stand for MTV now, just background noise.
But wild that 60% of airtime on MTV is showing just 1 program.

Re: Random Discussions
Rob is an awesome guy. Has one helluva personal story and is one of the most down to earth 'celebrities' that I've met. Even though he lives out west, he's never abandoned his local roots.
Just some of cool shit he's done that you may not expect:
- Quit HS to move to California to pursue a pro skateboarding career (ok, dumb, but ballsy)
- I may be off on his age a bit, but I know he's a little older than I am... so when he was around 24-25, owned/helped designed a big indoor skating facility. (late 90s, maybe 01-02)
- He was a big force behind DC shoes exploding.
- Built a local outdoor skatepark here... not just funded, but did a lot of the actual project management.
- Helped get 2 other skateparks in the area built (not involved in project management, but helped with design/pitching the deal)
- Has his multiple side businesses, with a couple that he's more than just a 'name on the board' of.
As for the show... my wife hates, though she loves all of the other shit that's on MTV. I enjoy it. It reminds me of a version of Tosh.0 that I don't mind having on when my kids are around. He's had 2 other big shows on MTV... Rob & Big and Fantasy Factory. Rob & Big was really just about Rob goofing off on a skateboard/reality with family, etc. Fantasy Factory gave a little glimpse of him juggling his "Rob & Big" persona, along with a dual focus on skating and his business... tons of guests on the 4-5 seasons this show ran.
Have to respect his hustle... he's done a ton!

For a golfing rookie, I just had my best day at the range.
All want to do is go back and hit more golf balls... until I go back next time and stink it up.

Re: Random Discussions
What is your success criteria at the range?
I wish I could golf more, I enjoy going out on the course but I don't go enough to get consistent.

Re: Random Discussions
if the ball goes up in the air and straight and more than, say, 100 yards I'll take it

My last 10 balls I hit with a fairway wood, and probably 8 outta 10 went perfectly straight and near or past the 175 yard marker, which is a not something I normally do, much less 8 out of 10 times.
I don't really care at all how far I hit it, I'm really trying to just swing nice and easy and hit it flush until can start hitting it solid more consistently , but I still swing too hard 75% of the time lol.

They probably wanted them there for some reason all these years.
Hell I think there is 5 or 6 US bases alone there.

It's an old cold war pact that has been going on for 30 years since the fall of the wall. They are there to be the front line defense in case Russia wants to start a war

My sisters step son is one of them stationed over there. He just got there like 3 weeks ago.
Just signed a contract for an apartment and bought a sweet used Mercedes 2 weeks ago and got the word yesterday that they were being shut down.
Not sure where he is going next yet.

Re: Random Discussions
As long as he used an approved renter from the housing office he'll be fine. Those renters waive any security deposit "fines" for breaking a lease due to military movementsThe_Niddler wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 8:09 pmlol
