According to the LA Times, Americans who are married to immigrants didn't get a stimulus check.
That's not good.

Re: COVID-19
No terribly surprising, but the SF Chronicle has confirmed via posthumous autopsies that there were multiple COVID deaths over 1 month before the first official death. 1st official death was March 9th, earliest death they've now found is 2/6.
Given that Patient Zero is supposedly January 15th, I'd guess it's more likely this was around at least a couple of months before, if not more.

first confirmed case is Mid November in China. It can only go back so far.shel311 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:46 pm No terribly surprising, but the SF Chronicle has confirmed via posthumous autopsies that there were multiple COVID deaths over 1 month before the first official death. 1st official death was March 9th, earliest death they've now found is 2/6.

Re: COVID-19
Seems like our death toll has been in the 40k range for over a week. So is this flattening? Haven't seen a graph from Nick lately.

Re: COVID-19
We had our highest death total 2 days ago, but Tuesdays are generally high following weekends and Mondays seem to not be fully accounted for in general.
That being said, I've read that when you have a death, it's something like 22-25 days on average since the patient was infected. We've been doing the stay at home for around the same time, maybe an extra week so generally speaking it makes sense that things are peaking now.
We likely aren't seeing any positive effects on deaths from the lockdowns yet, but should start soon if I understand it correctly.

US:
834 981 confirms
46 784 deaths (more deaths in 1 month than an entire flu season of the most severe flu over the last decade + 6k)
5.54% Death Rate (at this time)
1 in every 389 Americans has been confirmed to have it.
youre winning gold in the event.

before you go on about him not having any experience. President Obama had zero experience leading anything as well, and to a lot of people he did a good job. Sometimes you just need a leader to point everyone in the right direction.

There are I believe 8 states that have remained open during this pandemic.
All of them are below the average in cases and deaths per capita.

Nebraska is one. Grand Island is starting to get hit hard at the meat packing plants. We will see in the upcoming weeks how this holds out.
As far as being "open" it's really not. Nothing is open outside of essential stores really. It's not like we can get a haircut or anything.
