COVID-19
Re: COVID-19
2/1 000 000 is 1.2% eh..
Re: COVID-19
I don't think you mean exactly what you typed because 2/1,000,000 is not 1.2%...

Given how many people we're not testing, I just think we have so many more cases than reported, which then would drop the mortality rate drastically. People can easily have it, not test, then recover. If someone will be sick enough to die from it, they'll likely be in a hospital and diagnosed with it.

If there's one thing I've learned with COVID over the past few days, it's that percentages really kick George's ass.

Joe American: Hi, I am out of work right now due to this virus, can you defer my mortgage payments during this time?
Mortgage Servicer/Bank: Ha, no. You are "current" on your loan at this time but I can offer you a forbearance so no payments in 3 months but you will owe it all then at the end!
Joe American: Um, I just told you I am out of work and no income coming in
Mortgage Servicer/Bank: Good luck
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
State leader: shelter in place is in effect, only essential workers necessary
Same Mortgage Servicer/Bank:CORONA VIRUS, WE NEED A BAILOUT!!!!!!
US Politicians:No problem, here is billions and billions of dollars!! Have a nice day!
Something like that, amirite???

we really need that rollover....
Covid stats or new player ratings?

Re: COVID-19
Is anyone really expecting anything more than this though? I feel like this is a reasonable compromise, forbearance until you can make payments. Not sure why the bank should be on the hook for it completely.Cnasty wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 4:44 pm Joe American: Hi, I am out of work right now due to this virus, can you defer my mortgage payments during this time?

I don't really see any advantage to me not paying for 3 months, but 3 months from now owing it all back.

Re: COVID-19
Not completely but it’s funny how they look for “flexibility and bailouts” instantly and get them. Forbearance is a slap in the face to every American right now seeking help everywhere.Weasel wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 5:16 pmIs anyone really expecting anything more than this though? The banks should definitely be on the hook for something.
Re: COVID-19
Cashflow. If someones paycheck to paycheck and can put off the mortgage for a couple months, those are a couple months they can allocate that money to pay other utilities or buy food. Who knows how long this thing goes. For our clinic and staff, maybe its 2 months (who knows, honestly). Knowing they dont have to cover the mortgage for those two months before they can get back to work is huge
EDIT: Im also under the impression these are deferred. As in, the months not paid for now are tacked on at the end of the amortization.

Re: COVID-19
And then at the end of those “couple months” they still owe that money that was put towards other utilities and such.
Now what?
Now what?

Re: COVID-19
Yep, they want a bailout while, at the moment, offering no good options to defer at the moment.
So they get the bailout and individuals get screwed.

Re: COVID-19
Its shitty, deferment should be the least they could do after getting bailed out in 2008
