Something odd has happened the last two sims. I have released 20/20 guys from my Rookie team, or overaged guys and they ended up on my AAA team the next sim.

Its because you are waiving/dfa them instead of just outright releasing. If they end up on DFA with 0 days I drag them to AAA since I don't know what everyones intent is with each guy. I have heard some cases where if you release guys from IC they somehow end up on DFA with 0 days so maybe that happened. I will release the next batch of guys that appear on their for you in the next 2 sims if you tell me to.

That can't be the case when I look at my transaction log and the guys are listed as "released"

This has been a bug for years. Just have to release them again.

Totally legal, I did same with Noda as I was limited with what I could offer in year 1. That one ended pretty terribly though

We have had some pretty overachieving teams but this Bowie team may be the biggest one yet. That pitching staff looks mediocre at best ratings wise but they are all dealing. Has a good defense but nothing elite. I want to play him in the playoffs.
