Re: Random Discussions
The list isn't misleading, it's completely irrelevant. That's comparing developed illnesses vs something that's been around a few months. It hasn't even come close to a full spread yet. It's going to ravage South American and Africa.

South Korea was doing a heroic job controlling #COVID for the first 30 patients. Then #Patient31 did not adhere to #socialdistancing. Caused 2 clusters responsble for 80% of South Koreas infections.

Re: Random Discussions
Based on Wiki's numbers, it looks like the current mortality rate in the US is 1.6%.
The Washington nursing home thing is quite the outlier though. And that nursing home has been researched to death, and it seems shady as hell. In 2016, they paid out $145mil to settle a fraud suit against them.
If you take out the Washington numbers, there's been roughly 3k cases and 22 deaths, which would be a 0.7% mortality rate, still higher than the seasonal flu which I think is 0.2%.
And again, all of this does not account for the fact that the US completely dropped the ball on the test kits, so we know the # of affected is probably wayyyyyyy higher than the 3k number we have now.

Re: Random Discussions

Re: Random Discussions
Also, since South Korea started testing the shit out of everyone, wanna guess what the mortality rate is there?
0.7%
Again, not downplaying that number, but it's a heck of a lot different than 2-3%.
