Re: Random Discussions
Starting to think people got the corona without realizing it.
Re: Random Discussions
Pretty likely. Most are asymptomatic for a week, which means unknowingly transmitting. Its also not being tested for much here in the states, so my guess is that its everywhere but under reported. Many will absolutely get this (potentially already hhave) and chalk it up to a bad cold or the flu without thinking any different.

Re: Random Discussions
Weasel may be able to shed more light on this, but based on what you and Nick said, that all along has had me wondering is the virus really THAT bad?
Meaning, if a lot of people are getting it but chalking it up to the regular flu, then that would mean that the mortality rate is wayyyyyy lower than the 3% or whatever being reported, so how bad is it really?

Re: Random Discussions
The internet is telling me it's really bad.

Re: Random Discussions
I am not following it super close but if you go with ages 60 and under isn't the mortality rate like 0.2 or 0.3 percent?
Re: Random Discussions
Thats purely my speculation, no way of knowing without actually testing. Biggest risk will be elderly and those with respiratory issues, although there have been cases of young, otherwise healthy patients dying from it. Thankfully the very young (under 3) seem to have the mildest symptoms. Ive accepted that I will likely contract it at some point based on the amount of patient interactions I have each day. I dont mean to sound flippant about a literal pandemic, but I do think much of the hysteria is blown out of proportion a bitshel311 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:43 am Weasel may be able to shed more light on this, but based on what you and Nick said, that all along has had me wondering is the virus really THAT bad?

Re: Random Discussions
Has there been any younger healthy patients in the US dying from it? I keep reading its elderly. We have a lady here in Omaha that's 36 but she already had respiratory issues (would asthma fit in with that kind of issue or worse?)

Re: Random Discussions
every flu is bad. Last year me and the family got Swine Flu. I was healed in 2 days, mom was hospitalized for a week.
I just remember in December having an annoying cough I couldnt kick and feeling like shit. They say this could of started in October and I moreso just put 2 and 2 together that people were getting this and beating it/going to see a doc long before the hysteria about it.

The total number of global cases has surpassed 117,000, including more than 4,200 fatalities. Over 60,000 patients are reported to have recovered. Get the latest updates from around the world:
only 117k in the world? Toronto has 6 million people and once a year were all fucked up from a flu.

Well there's only 117k (121k now) because the countries with the most cases have gone through extreme measures to cut it off. If they didn't do that, we would be seeing numbers that look more like the population of Toronto. Lol

Seattle has banned any gatherings over 250 people. I'm curious why that number.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 2:32 pm GS Warriors going to play home games without fans. I’m going to get quarantined in San Diego aren’t I?
Could be worse places that’s for sure.

Lol... I'm in Vegas next week for opening week of the tourney, and I'm almost positive I'll be stuck there for a bit. The wife is gonna be pissed. Meanwhile, more Blackjack and Beer for me.

Re: Random Discussions
I first came across this just over 2 weeks ago. At the time, the total was ticking up just under 800 confirmed cases a day... Now it's ticking up about 5000 a day. The US has been ramping up nicely, leap frogging several countries this past week.Wasted Memory wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 1:02 pm Here's a fun little site with the numbers.

Re: Random Discussions
i wonder if north korea actually has zero cases with its isolation. also would not be shocked if they just put a bullet in anyone who started coughing.

Re: Random Discussions
Not much difference from most college basketball games now a days where no one watches anyways.
