I'm only going off of potentials for right now. Haven't gotten to look at them just yet, for the exception of RF Ronnie Small (20/80 my scout) but looking at his stats he is definitely more like the 20/31 OSA has him at

same, haven't looked at any stats, only OSA and Scout potentials.

My scout has 2 blue SPs, 5 blue CLs, 4 green SPs, 4 green RP/CL, 1 green 1B, 2 green SSs, 4 green OFs . . .

vs OSA has 12 (5 80 potential) blue SPs, 22 (10 80 potential) RP/CL, 1 Blue C, 1 blue 1B, 2 blue 2Bs, 2 blue 3Bs, 1 blue SS, 6 blue OFs . . . (don't feel like listing ALL the greens)

This draft is inexplicably worse than last year according to my scout and I have max scouting budget and 90% of that money in Amateur. The fact that OSA loves it actually is relieving because there should be a discrepancy...but holy shit OSA loves A LOT of guys. Will be pretty interesting to see if the OSA babies finally get burnt this year.

i mean, if OSA loves a guy and his college/HS stats are off the charts, isn't that a decent indication that OSA is pretty accurate?

maybe not, but it is why i lean more towards OSA than scouting but also lean heavily on those guys that are liked by both OSA and scouting

It can also depend on the competition level. I've been looking all over for this info but can't find it. In other leagues, in the draft class, you can show the Competition info (basically how good was their competition they played against) and the categories range from Poor -> Great. If a guy hits 40 HRs and bats 500 against Poor comp I'm much less inclined to believe them.

Maybe that's not on in our league? I know I literally just did a draft in another league and was able to see their Comp levels but this league they don't show in the exact same setup I have.

In a similar vein but not related, I wish there was an option to use ONLY your scouts. I think the league dynamic would be miles different if that were the case

....and if International prospects weren't almost a guarantee to be pretty damn close to their Potential and are miles better than our ordinary draftees.......

8 of 9 of my starters has defensive efficiency over 1.000 yet we are 11th in the AL at .687??

I'd be for this but only if the scouting made sense, and not having some of the wild discrepancies we have.

That's why I like the idea of the mock drafts, and I'm hopeful they're included in online leagues. If my scout shows a guy with 38 potential, in real life, my scout would still know that this guy he doesn't like is a bonafide stud prospect/top 10 draft pick kind of a guy.

I hate that I really have no way of knowing that if my scout randomly doesn't like a guy that 20 other scouts love. I feel that's a big missing piece in OOTP, and mock drafts would help bridge that gap.

I honestly think the Favors Tools/Ability modifier this game applies to scouts is out of whack. I've gone from a guy with similar ratings but opposite styles and my minors usually flipped on it's head. Let's just hope "re-imagined scouting" in OOTP21 is better than this shit....

Looks like your backup C is tanking your numbers because it's early and there isn't a ton of data

I'm 11th, 12th, 14th and 14th in hitting categories. Good thing my pitchers aren't still asleep in their spring training hotel rooms like the batters... Christ.
