Re: Random Discussions
Fucking bananas! Samuel Little was in prison for 3 murders and then confesses to 90 more. FBI has verified 50 of those claims so far. You don't see many black serial killers

Yup, that finally did it for me. I was to laser focused on the 50% all along and he finally got me to stop thatnick wrote:we talked about this before and it finally makes sense to me.

Re: Random Discussions
Sometimes if you expand the options it makes more sense.
Pick a number between 1-1000000
You choose 50.
Then I say, ok, I will eliminate all other choices except for your number and 20000.
Which do you choose? Same argument at a greater scale

absolutely not but okay
Re: Random Discussions
And your math knowledge shows with that statement.
I give you a choice of a million numbers. You have 1/1000000 chance of guessing the number. I eliminate all wrong answers and keep your number and potentially the right number. Are you keeping your number?

The other one I like is the Birthday problem that if you have around 20 people theres a 50-50 shot that 2 will have the same month/day birthday. With our board of roughly 35 people, about 80% chance.

We've tried this one numerous times at different events. Every time we have at least two people with the same birthday.

Lol, so an epifany happens from that guys terrible explanation of the Monty Hall Problem and a failure to see the relationship to my explanation is laughable. Carry on...

No you just dunno what you're talking about and pointless to explain when the video does an excellent job at it

Re: Random Discussions
Pretty sure the 16 years teaching math would prove otherwise. It's a probability problem. You just don't math very well. But as usual when you don't understand something you call names. If you can't comprehend my example, the video did nothing for you to "understand" the problemnick wrote:No you just dunno what you're talking about and pointless to explain when the video does an excellent job at it

Poor kids learning math from u for 16 years
Re: Random Discussions
Again, you just don't get it. We have had this problem in class. Test scores prove my worth that I don't have to justify to you. Just admit you don't really understand the problem. Guys explanation isn't a good one.

Oh I understand it.
Re: Random Discussions
I like this new Nick. Custodian at a school solving math problems. They should make that in to a movie.

Re: Random Discussions
The good thing about Canadian schools. They have cameras in each classroom and I was able to find one of Nick working out the problem:BFiVL wrote:I like this new Nick. Custodian at a school solving math problems. They should make that in to a movie.
