Vinhal going to get paid next year.DRWebs wrote:Leaderboard random notes
* Aging vets still getting it done: Munoz (40yo, 1.000+ OPS), Blackwell (39yo, .882 OPS), Winebrenner (37yo, .972 OPS)
* All underrated club: Vinhal (back to back .900+ seasons), Steve Moore (career .385 OBP, back to back .400+ seasons)
* Luis Perez hasn't missed a beat in SF, and trading only David Miller to get him looks a stroke of genius
* Some guy named Robert Bryant leads the league in average
* 2 players are caught stealing as much as they are successful and both play for LA (Bunte - 11/26, ORorke - 13/26)
* RI has stolen more bases this season (14) then they have the previous decade combined
* MIA leads the league in times being hit by a pitch... Shocker

Hey, don't forget I also got Yi-da Ge, that was the real steal.DRWebs wrote: Luis Perez hasn't missed a beat in SF, and trading only David Miller to get him looks a stroke of genius

Tied for worst haul for a superstar with Jose Rodriguez when Sylvester got molested by Boston.Hammerin' Hank wrote:Hey, don't forget I also got Yi-da Ge, that was the real steal.DRWebs wrote: Luis Perez hasn't missed a beat in SF, and trading only David Miller to get him looks a stroke of genius

Speaking of Sylvester... I was so excited with how he burst on to the scene with posts and excitement that I think I even said to Corey... "This guy will be the commish one day"
God damn was I wrong on that one. He sucked before the first season was over

I think the Kline to Boston deal was the worst deal of all time. Doesn't even matter if Kline isn't peak Kline any more, paying $200mil+ for 1 season of a player, it'll be hard to top that for a worst deal.wdoupis wrote:Tied for worst haul for a superstar with Jose Rodriguez when Sylvester got molested by Boston.Hammerin' Hank wrote:Hey, don't forget I also got Yi-da Ge, that was the real steal.DRWebs wrote: Luis Perez hasn't missed a beat in SF, and trading only David Miller to get him looks a stroke of genius

I am sure you had one that led to 5 or 6 pages of people asking how this trade could even go thru.

That was more because of the cash. Guys ripped the cash part but I am talking about trading for proven superstars, not 18 year old prospect trades.GeorgesGoons wrote:It was 3 pages

I don't believe people didn't like this trade because of the cash. He traded the 4th pick (which we all know the value of a top 5 pick in the draft) for two negative WAR guyswdoupis wrote:That was more because of the cash. Don't remember the exact details but he got back only $15mil for the #4 overall pick AND like you said took back 2 negative WAR players making near $3mil or so, so he really only got back $12mil ish.GeorgesGoons wrote:I don't believe people didn't like this trade because of the cash. It was bizarre, to say the least, especially without putting Ferreira on the trade block to start a bidding war.

shel can't develop a prospect to save his life. Ferreira was done the moment he went there.

Shel could be a 5x champ if he just once, didnt trade all his Specks for get quick rich schemes.. just once.Uuaww wrote:shel can't develop a prospect to save his life. Ferreira was done the moment he went there.

You guys havent criticized me for giving away Dan Page and Jim Holman lately ... add those terrible deals into your comments, too please.
Perez was awesome and i wish in hindsight i didnt trade him - but that deal saved me like $30mil.
And last time I checked, san fran has won as many championships with him as I did.
Not comparing myself to that franchise because they are w/o a doubt superior to mine ... but you should prob get my point.
