2066 Season Thread... Hakuna Nonaka
Re: 2066 Season Thread... Hakuna Nonaka
Why is it only an issue now? Cincinnati during Reigns tenure was at higher levels than any of Richmond, Alabama, or Washington

So then why wasn't Boston at wayyyyyy higher levels than Bama/Richmond/OCD/Washington during his run?DRWebs wrote:Why is it only an issue now? Cincinnati during Reigns tenure was at higher levels than any of Richmond, Alabama, or Washington
Finances are way out of whack. Those top 4 teams almost literally can't fuck things up and have had and will continue to have near $200mil budgets for as long as they want. It's a bit silly.

A bit silly is making these absolute statements without either presenting all the information, or more likely, even having it. I can confidently make the statement about Cincinnati because there was a post at some point saying he was maxed out on Market Size, Loyalty, and Fan Interest. Unless it's logged somewhere we don't have Boston's aforementioned three factors and unless Billy posts them, we don't have each of his, Ry's, and Ted'sshel311 wrote:So then why wasn't Boston at wayyyyyy higher levels than Bama/Richmond/OCD/Washington during his run?DRWebs wrote:Why is it only an issue now? Explain to me why market, fan interest and loyalty would not have been maxed out during my run

So that's a bit silly but then you counter with Cincy and admit you don't have their numbers either and just reference a post that we don't even know who made or have the actual contents of the post?DRWebs wrote:A bit silly is making these absolute statements without either presenting all the information, or more likely, even having it.

I think your Cincy example in reference to Boston didn't help your side at all, I'd go the other way that it proves my point, but my argument here is not really Cincy vs Boston.
And Boston had a better run, and he didn't get the infinite $190 mil budgets, so....see the point now?DRWebs wrote:I can confidently make the statement about Cincinnati because there was a post at some point saying he was maxed out on Market Size, Loyalty, and Fan Interest.

Bama has won an average of 75 games over the past 5 seasons. Bama made $185mil in revenue last season, good for the 4th highest budget this season.shel311 wrote:Those top 4 teams almost literally can't fuck things up and have had and will continue to have near $200mil budgets for as long as they want. What does Bama realistically have to do to NOT have an auto-top 5 budget if a complete 5 season rebuild doesn't put a dent in it?
Bama had a run of a bunch of playoff appearances consecutively so they definitely should have a loyalty base built of to withstand SOME of it during the bad times. But when you can go through a 5 year rebuild of bad teams and get right back to the top with little effort, i'd ask again, what would have to actually happen to fuck that up?

Stadium size. Ticket sales. Ticket prices. Scouting budget. Coaching budget.
Gonna need to lay out a lot of things to work the math out before anyone can really say the other is wrong. It’s not like owners just give us a number anymore

Re: 2066 Season Thread... Hakuna Nonaka
Becuase a change to Market Size and/or Loyalty takes a decade or maybe even longer to occur. If either of those was 2 maybe 3 points lower than your peers, why would you expect to have the largest budget based on how the league is setup? Alabama and Washington have been serial winners from day one so to the game longevity is more important than dominance
Going back to 2046, Boston did have budgets of 190 or more. The biggest issue for them was media revenue, which would lead us to believe that their market size and/or loyalty was only 5-7 initially costing them anywhere from 5-10M for media revenue and then maybe affecting other sales as well
2046: 195
2047: 200
2048: 190
2049: 190

Sheltown nearly had 1 million more in attendance than Bama, for reference.Seeitsaveit13 wrote:Stadium size. Ticket sales. Ticket prices. Scouting budget. Coaching budget.

I'm sure his ticket prices were more than double mine, but again, that speaks to my main point. How much goodwill should this loyalty give you?
When you rebuild, should it give you some theoretical % more revenue than a team without that loyalty, or should it allow you to automatically shoot right back up to a top 4 budget the moment you field your 1st decent team after said rebuild? Because if it's the latter, I'll ask again, how do you possibly fuck that up? Other than on purpose, I'd argue you can't.

They should have some kind of advantage with loyalty due to this. They should not be able to just be a top 4 budget team every year no matter what because of this. The latter appears to be what is happening in the case of Bama over the past 5 seasons.DRWebs wrote:Alabama and Washington have been serial winners from day one so to the game longevity is more important than dominance
Then to Corey's point, why didn't his team get the same benefit during his rebuild? His rebuild was 1-2 seasons longer, but you'd obviously think he should have wayyyy more loyalty built up given how much better his run was.

Judging by how defensive you got and took it so personal when my argument is obviously on how the game does things, not Bama. uh-yea, obviously.Ry wrote:uh-no, but you are welcome to think that way.shel311 wrote:Defensive code for "I know it's really fucked up but I benefit from it, and whatever is best for me is more important than what may be best for the league."Ry wrote:I'm around all day if you need advice on how to run your franchise

You didn't even bother to argue what we're talking about, just took it really personal. So yea, you obviously just want to close your eyes and keep it going the way it is.
Sorry you thought it was a Bama issue and got real pissy, that's a you thing. My issue was clearly with the game itself.
