pretty sure if u leave it at 0 itll bump it to a small amount (5 mil?) when season starts. I used to put 0 as my dev budget and itd bump it to 2mil so i just left it.

putting 12 mil into scouting. lets see if this works

It will do that for scouting and player dev if you put zero on the day preseason begins. Do not think it does to draft budget

The issue with Bruce Burke is not new. For some reason when you process a trade right before arb and sim thru it we have had it happen the the guy gets released at Arb. Sometimes its because the owner who traded him withdrew an arb offer, sometimes it just kinda happens. I actually usually process the trades at the end of this sim due to that but forgot this time.

As for Burke, Shel is right. Having someone on the 40 man triggers the 480k payment but if they are still in minors and not accruing ML service time it does not get them any closer to arbitration years. Burke was not arb eligible and should not have been released, just one of those weird OOTP things that sometimes happens. I usually look that sim for traded guys and fix it before file comes out if that happens but I forgot this time. That is why you saw him in the FA pool for one day

Is this related to the player moving to the new roster but being DFA and therefore not appearing on any ML roster when their renewal is intended to occur? So, trades either have to be suspended for one sim (making it easier for you) or you have to move them to the roster immediately?

Or no relation to that?

Yeah, that is most likely it. In Burke's case I am not really sure what triggers it as it is usually due to previous owner not offering arb so that transfers to team receiving the player. I have had Burke's situation happen before though as well and its always this arb sim. Happened to me more when I first started as commish so I started doing the trades at the end of the sim instead of the beginning (normal way) to prevent this but I just forgot this time. I noticed Burke as soon as file was put out and wrote Webby that I'd fix it

Updated to the newest version today - and now it's giving me an error that it it doesnt recognize my serial number and the activation key isnt found on the server.. anyone else get that?

Ted told me yesterday that he just downloaded the correct one and it worked and transferred so no need to file a ticket or anything

Ted most likely only activated his software 1 time, unless OOTP fixed it, but last I knew, if you were out of activations, you had to open a ticket to their help desk and Lukas would reset your serial number activations.
