To be fair, this is about the best outcome for a Trump presidency that I could have hoped for. I'm sure I said it a few times, but everyone knew it was going to be a boisterous shitshow... but he's gotten shit done, been consistent about trying to fulfill his campaign promises and so far, we've dodged WW3.

The National Inquirer paying off a Playboy Playmate that Trump cheated on one of his wives with.
The Wall Street Journal killing stories on Trump's affairs.
Donald Trump regularally talking on the phone to Rupert Murdoch (the owner of the Wall Street Journal and Fox News).

Even has TMZ is going to bat for President Trump.
(Note that only some of those calls are being made on the same unsecured, personal Android cellphone he was using before the election. Which, just for the record, is nothing like having a personal email server in your basement, okay? Also it would be perfectly okay for President Trump to have a private email server if he wanted to anyway.)

Not to mention the $5,000,000,000.00 in free advertising the msm gave Trump during the 2016 campaign, or the disproportionately negative coverage they showed to Hillary Clinton, especially in the last week of the election.

So President Donald "The mainstream media hates me!" Trump, has the Wall Street Journal (one of the most well read newspapers anywhere), Fox News (the most watched cable news network in America), News Corp (one of the largest media companies in the world), the National Inquirer (available at every checkout line in the nation), and TMZ, all working on his behalf. (Which is to say nothing of AM radio and AM religion, both of which are pulling for him.)

Projection thy name is Trump. To quote a fellow redditor "I sure hope Robert Mueller is checking all the pizza restaurant basements in Washington, DC."

Edit: Holy shit, I did forget Sinclair Broadcasting, the largest provider of local news coverage in the country, which, in addition to its blatant right-wing bias, also produces so-called "must run segments" written and performed by former White House official and Trump campaign surrogate, Boris Epshteyn. (Thanks to u-TheHollywoodElite and u-imnotthomas for the reminder!)

Edit 2: Just for context, I'd like to remind everybody that it was the "liberal" New York Times that initially reported about Hillary Clinton's private email server, they didn't kill the story, they didn't hide the problem, they put it on their goddamn front page.

Edit 4: Wanna' hear something weird that I found out while researching this post? One media outlet that was fairly loudly anti-Trump was Russia Today, of all things! Which is not to say they didn't propagandize in their own way, just that they're not quite as big a fan of Donald Trump as Fox News is.

Part of this disinformation/division campaign was the spread of alt-right ideologies into mainstream media.

The Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville was organized by Jason Kessler, who was also a writer for the Daily Caller [1]. Here is a recent clip [2] from Showtime’s The Circus where people working at the Daily Caller are interviewed by Mark McKinnon. The Daily Caller was co-founded by Tucker Carlson.

Gavin McInness , formerly of The Rebel Media and ex-cofounder of VICE, founded the alt-right group ‘The Proud Boys’ [3]. McInnes is currently with CRTV alongside Mark Levin and Michelle Malkin [4]. Roger Stone can be seen here[5] flashing a coopted white power hand gesture with a group of Proud Boys at some bar. This same gesture has been shown multiple times at the White House by several people affiliated with the alt-right. These people range from interns [6] to reporters such as Mike Cernovich, Lucian Wintrich, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Cassandra Fairbanks [7].

Some have argued that the OK hand gesture isn’t racist. Sometimes it isn’t.

It’s all about context

The alt-right likes to hide behind innocent symbols.

Here is a Periscope video [8] posted by Jack Posobiec who was filming Mike Flynn Jr in DC at a fundraiser on Feb 14, 2018. Watch at (0:25) when the camera pans. A guy wearing glasses waves the sign directly to the camera.
Posobiec is a known figure from the alt-right that Donald Trump retweeted after the Unite the Right Rally. [9] Posobiec can be seen with here[10] with Richard Spencer who is a key figure in the movement.

This is a different video example [11] from Knox News showing the Traditionalist Worker Party flashing the white power hand sign discretely. Focus on the guy with the white hat and a beard at (1:22).

Lucian Wintrich is the White House correspondent for The Gateway Pundit. They are responsible stories calling the Parkland Students “crisis actors” [13]. Questionable “data” from The Gateway Pundit was used by Rep. Steve King to hold hearings concerning bogus right-wing censorship for internet pundits. That same day, every Republican opted out of going to an important meeting with the Cambridge Analytica whistleblower, Christopher Wylie.[14]

Wintrich was also arrested while speaking at UConn giving a speech entitled “It’s OK to be white”. [15]

Tucker Carlson did his own segment on the “It’s OK to be white” campaign. [16]

This is a Quartz article [17] that explains how the ‘It’s OK to be white’ campaign originated on 4chan.

Mike Cernovich and Chuck Johnson unsuccessfully tried to smear Senator Chuck Schumer using falsified information. This was after they forced former Rep. Conyers to resign by offering up $10,000 for information on sexual harassment. [18]

Cernovich has also tweeted that “Date rape does not exist”, but Donald Trump Jr. has still retweeted/endorsed him. [19]

Chuck Johnson is a holocaust denier who was invited to the State of the Union by Rep. Matt Gaetz. [20] Johnson also helped organize a meeting between Rep. Dana Rohrabacher and Julian Assange. [21]

It has now been reported that Columbus Nova who paid Michael Cohen “consulting fees” registered Alt-Right websites during the 2016 election. [22]

Juan Pablo Andrade - policy adviser for the pro-Trump America First proclaims in a Snapchat video [23] recorded at a hotel during a Turning Point USA conference in December stating, “The only thing the Nazis didn’t get right is they didn’t keep f***g going!”

Oh, and Tucker Carlson posed for a picture [24] with Roger Stone and a couple of DC Proud Boys on March 17, 2018.
