Barring some of Billy’s favorite owners chiming in and voting this one should be wrapped up here soon at 12 votes.

Re: Boston Player Draft
I've voted no. I just don't believe having Corey give up 29 guys will create any more immersion. Sure, it'd be nice to break up his team, but it's our fault he has it. He earned it. Maybe immersion would pick up for a day or two while everyone figures out who's getting who, but then it'll go back to the same old same old. Corey's team is not what's slowing things down.

Re: Boston Player Draft
i was around when we first started this league. i remember people were into it. i left in i think 2020 something and returned for the 2049 season. my first season back , i noticed the activity on boards and people responding to trades/making offers. this past season 2050, it has been very quiet. i have no idea on the export numbers, but its been quiet. teams seem to be hesitant on making deals.
in regards to coreys idea on whats best for the league. the first thing we should all be saying is we are lucky to know a guy like Corey. in this time of "win 1st, screw everybody else, its all about me ,and nobody else world we live in now, he is willing to sacrifice his team current success for the future better of the league( we hope). thanks for the offer Corey.
reading all these posts, there is some great views of both sides, and some not so great opinions as well. i hear on the boards restart this or that, i can say i will be out and im sure there will be a few more following right behind me if that happens. its like having kids with these drafts, you get them and you raise them and see what happens. you grow with them and restarting would just flat out suck.
if Corey thinks his idea might be whats best for the league to level out the playing field to get more immersion, then i agree. i am more then one of his players to get to 70 wins let alone the playoffs. people need to realize that it takes time on building a team. there is luck, and it takes time to get guys major league ready thru each level of the minor leagues.
i will vote yes, but i wont be bummed if it doesn't pass as well. the dominant playoff teams like wash, po,NE, Boston and the rest of them just make me work harder to get my team too where they are now.

Re: Boston Player Draft
I voted no and I have made the comments about the Boston train. The only solution to this type of organizational dominance is having a commish that doesn’t have a dog in the fight. That doesn’t mean I want Corey to give up his team, but the biggest elephant in the room is what unknown advantages does a commish that also has a team have? I don’t have answers, but the draft option doesn’t seem to be the answer in my opinion.

Re: Boston Player Draft
I voted no for the explained details.
I think something like this restricted to the 10 worst records would be OK (and they can only select from your 25 man roster) - and I personally think that team should give up a draft pick for this (2nd round would be fine, they just get a clear 20/20 crap player).
Just my opinion and justification (for anyone that cares). I don't like the idea of every team getting a piece of the pie as I think that will shift the immediate balance of power among the good playoff teams as well.

Re: Boston Player Draft
From my personal point of view, I do think it would help the league. I don't feel the need to trade for a veteran bc I won't come close to Boston regardless so may as well leave it up to computer playoffs chances. I can't trade for a great prospect bc Corey can and will offer more than I can afford.
He gets rid of some guys, I think he becomes more human like reign was. If not, and the randomness of the playoffs went down in 18, we are looking at a lot of boston rings.
Corey has won ootp guys, we can either keep going with him winning or move on playing for second lol.

Re: Boston Player Draft
I'm totally fine with only the poor teams getting a piece, specifically the bottom 13 historically seems like a good amount.
Re: Boston Player Draft
nope. we do this draft i want a player too. And it shouldnt be basedon this yrs draft, should be the last 3-5 yrs avg'd out. only fair.
Re: Boston Player Draft
Corey didn't put any stipulations on who could be picked except his protected list.nick wrote:nope. we do this draft i want a player too. And it shouldnt be basedon this yrs draft, should be the last 3-5 yrs avg'd out. only fair.

Re: Boston Player Draft
this is legit unfortunately. just made progress too but i cant be in a league that actually thinks this is even remotely a good idea.
Re: Boston Player Draft
theres a protected list of guys.. and do people not realize this is his minors?

1 player isnt gonna do shit for a team. esp the bottom 13, some of which have never made the playoffs ever. And its not like hes not gonna have 120+ wins. This seems silly and a waste of time and a slap to the face of someone who worked hard to make his team good.
Corey used to suck (no offense corey). he's clearly learned the game, become obsessed and ogt better. Lets penalize him cause hes good. 2017 in a nutshell.
