It is not indefensible. It is one of the reasons people voted for him. He told them that if you want to re-negotiate the terms of the agreement to better suit the US taxpayers he would be fine with that. The fact that France and Germany refuse to re-negotiate, shows that this isn't really about "climate change" but more about the money the US was to pay. This was a bad deal all around for US taxpayers and businesses. China, the worlds largest contributor of pollution and green house gases, is actually allowed to increase their greenhouse gas output until 2030. Yep. He has stated he doesn't believe in climate change and it's a "Chinese hoax".
He is trying his hardest to undo every single thing Obama has put into place and has no idea why he is doing it specifically other than for that reason.
This is indefensible.
I'm all for a clean planet. Who isn't? This Paris accord was nothing but a sham.
