Re: 2016 Presidential Election
So what's Trump's reasons for pulling out?
Re: 2016 Presidential Election
He denies climate change, believes it's fake. Has said it and showed it by his appointees. So if you do not believe in climate change why stay in? God he sucks

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
I've been busy watching Westworld so can't speak for that. I'd give it a while longer so you can hear all 3 different reasons he will give and try and piece together the best you can. Kinda like checking your scout and OSA before trying to figure it out

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Also he is using the American businesses and worrying about America only as an excuse.
I'm the end it may actually hurt American trade and ties of course.
That being said one of the things I read was that it is a non binding and almost gentleman agreement to be a part of so it isn't a huge thing to not be a part of but it basically says yea, f climate change and screw all of you guys.
Not the best look.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
There was an analyst on CNN that said he thought the reason was because green energy costs too much and would cost American jobs. He also said that energy is twice as much in Germany (and some other countries) than it is in the USA. If America was to handcuff themselves with following the green route it would cost companies more money to operate, thus costing jobs.
Beats me, and I really don't know much about the agreement.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Green energy costs more because it's not used but as we switch to it and it becomes more efficiently used prices drop. Also, jobs and costs are not more important than the planet.

For me it is. The planet has a long while to go, I'm not worried for me, my son or grand kidswdoupis wrote:Green energy costs more because it's not used but as we switch to it and it becomes more efficiently used prices drop. Also, jobs and costs are not more important than the planet.
I really think green energy will come around once vehicles come around. Once the big companies truly buy into what Tesla is doing we are stuck with fossil fuels.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
lol smh America. thankfully it'll take 4 yrs to remove so the next president will hopefully cancel this idiocy.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Here, this guy couldn't have said it better that even I got it now: "Will Farrell I applaud President Trump's decision to put American workers first by withdrawing from a poorly negotiated deal on climate that benefited global elites at the expense of American workers and taxpayers. The Paris Accord, like the Iran deal I opposed, was put in place by President Obama as an "agreement" instead of a treaty, to avoid ratification by the Senate as is required under our Constitution. That is not good governance and President Trump is doing the right thing by rejecting a bad deal that hamstrings the US, while empowering the top polluting countries. In fact, the Obama-negotiated agreement imposes unrealistic targets on the U.S. while giving countries like China a free pass for years to come. Were this a true "climate" deal, China's and India's emissions would improve, not get worse over the next decade. And, here in the US we have an abundance of liquid natural gas that is clean energy. The Obama administration blocked the export of LNG and so again if the goal is to reduce emissions and clean the environment, it would be nonsensical to block clean energy exports.
The facts are clear that even before the Paris accord was signed, America has been at the top of industrialized nations when it comes to reducing its carbon emissions. As EPA Chief Scott Pruitt said in his remarks following the president's statement, "It should be noted, that we as a nation are better than anyone else in the world at striking a balance between growing our economy, growing jobs, and being a good steward of our environment. We owe no apologies to other nations for our environmental stewardship."
Everyone wants a healthy planet. History has shown that a strong economy makes it more likely that its citizens will devote a larger amount of resources to protecting the environment and investing in energy-saving technologies. A thriving planet won't come from giving foreign bureaucrats more power and control over our economy. It will come from innovation and progress that comes from unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit that has been behind the technological achievements that has made us both an economic powerhouse, and a leader in caring for and protecting our environment for the next generation"
Copied: "Read the Paris Accord. Trump isn't saying the science is wrong. He isn't saying that we are going to start polluting and stop all the things we have done so far. He just said that the American taxpayer is not going to pay a ton of money so other countries can avoid doing their part."

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Devils advocate here. If it isn't as binding and as important as that article demeans it to be, why not step up to the table as the most powerful country in the world and show commitment to the cause?
He has stated he doesn't believe in climate change and it's a "Chinese hoax".
He is trying his hardest to undo every single thing Obama has put into place and has no idea why he is doing it specifically other than for that reason.
This is indefensible.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
This is the same guy that said this about asbestos

>I believe that the movement against asbestos was led by the mob, because it was often mob-related companies that would do the asbestos removal. Great pressure was put on politicians, and as usual, the politicians relented. Millions of truckloads of this incredible fire-proofing material were taken to special "dump sites" and asbestos was replaced by materials that were supposedly safe but couldn't hold a candle to asbestos in limiting the ravages of fire.
If we didn't remove incredibly powerful fire retardant asbestos & replace it with junk that doesn't work, the World Trade Center would never have burned down. [17 Oct **2012**]

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
And this masterpiece
Q: Would you cut departments?
TRUMP: Environmental Protection, what they do is a disgrace. Every week they come out with new regulations.
Q: Who's going to protect the environment?
TRUMP: We'll be fine with the environment. We can leave a little bit, but you can't destroy businesses.
