Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Did Alicia Keys just roll out of bed late for her appearance here? Yikes
Re: 2016 Presidential Election
I couldn't agree more to this. His whole campaign, his whole message....was the revolution. He 100% endorsed her for the sole reason of keeping Trump out of the WH. For months now I've seen people claiming that a non-vote or a write-in vote is a vote for Hillary. I actually seem to see it as the opposite. Hillary is on a sinking ship and Bernie may be the last ditch effort to stay afloat. Bernie supporters deep down are pissed and not taking this endorsement lightly. While not a fan, I would say this endorsement has doubled the support a guy like Gary Johnson can get. I've seen numerous pie charts claiming there are more Indpendents than registered dems or republicans. If the amount of people that claim to be against the 2 party system would actually stick to their word, it would take 1 election cycle to prove it can actually be changed. I could go on and on about this but for the sake of the argument, I'll save it.ReignOnU wrote:My thoughts on Bernie aside... if this is really about making the change that his supporters want to see, I think the right path is to go independent and fight. As many have said in the past months, this isn't going to happen overnight. Maybe the right first step is to fight this battle to the bitter end and lose. But in that battle, open the eyes of more and more people. We know that the momentum tends to swing back and forth. If Trump is half as bad as Dems make him out to be, then there is a major path paved for someone to be the anti-Hillary and the next Bernie. (I don't know the liberal side well enough to know who that might be in 4yrs)
I honestly believe that Sanders needs to die on this hill or all of this was wasted effort and a massive step backwards. He's spitting in the face of the people that thought he was serious about change.
That being said, I hate to say it, but I think we'll see if Bernie plays any role in Killary's presidency. 18 states have voted dem since the 92 election, forming a foundation of 242 electoral votes out of the 270 needed. Florida, the most populated swing state, will as always be key. Miami-Dade county accounts for 1/10th of the total Florida vote and the diverse population will most likely go against Trump. Add in the Tampa/Orlando area and we have a 2012 repeat when Obama ran away with the state. Next we have NC, where the painting is on the wall for a politically divided state to go blue. The NBA pulling out the ASG of Charlotte due to chicks with dicks pissing in the women's bathroom. Moderates are likely to vote Democrat for this very reason. Backlash at the Governor. That leaves Virginia, which normally falls to the left of NC....again, a bad thing for Trump. At this point he will need to sweep the rust belt, from Pennsylvania to Ohio to Wisconsin...a daunting task. Let's say it does happen, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado....high Hispanic communities, not likely to cast a vote for Trump (especially in states where no ID is required to vote). Fun fact for anyone that loves some good crooked politics....back in 2012, Obama did not win a single state that requires photo ID to vote. NOT ONE! Minnesota (10), Iowa (6), Wisconsin (10), Nevada (6), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5) and Pennsylvania (20) were all closely contested. This amounts to a total of 66 electoral votes. When added to Romney’s total of 205 electoral votes, that would give Romney 271 electoral votes, enough votes to win even without Ohio or Florida. I don't expect anything different this coming election.
I made a left turn on this topic I'm sure, but felt the need to chime in

Gotta give it to Obama... the guy and talk his ass off. Watching the DNC and it's reminding me why I voted for him in '08. (along with a useless shitcan as opposition). While I don't like the content of what he's saying, he's damn good at saying it.

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
Wild conspiracy theory... I actually had to go look at the history because it sounded so far-fetched (but the sequence is actually true, yuck)
So we know Debbie Wasserman Schultz was the co-chair of Hillary's 2008 presidential run where she lost to Obama. So in order to lock down the nomination for 2016, Hillary had to get DWS in charge of the DNC and manipulate it from the inside.
In order for this to work, they would not only have to get the DNC chair to step down, but recommend DWS for the position. The Clinton's would have to promise something to that person. Something more prestigious than being the head of the democratic party. So what would they get.....?
According to http://rulers.org/usgovt.html#parties the person who stepped down and recommended DWS was non other than....
Tim Kaine.

Rev Barber just made a hell of a speech.
if you can find it online, i'd recommend listening to it.
its so crazy that a message of love and unity shocks us so much that we cheer as if its some crazy thought. it should be the norm, but regardless, he made a hell of a speech

There is something completely wrong with how the media plays into peoples "inner racism"

Re: 2016 Presidential Election
The headlines, which should be used to convey the main point, seem horribly wrong - especially when you note it is the same writer 10 days apart.
But the two speeches aren't really comparable in reality.
