good season everyone! good luck to everyone in the playoffs. I'm rooting for PO to shock the world.
i enjoyed this year a lot despite my 4th year of shit.
GOOD:
- Kyle Bryant went from a solid youngster to a star SS.
- grabbed a young power bat who hit stride in 2nd half of year, Jose Valdez
- John Tyler continued to progress and we locked him up long term
- saw a nice uptick in attendance
- got some youngsters some extended playing time that hopefully helps their development.
BAD:
- went from being in a position to grab 2 or 3 studs in free agency to round out my roster to being in the hole after the INT'l fiasco.
- lost 2 of my top <25 pitching prospects to year long injuries
-went from being in a position to grab 2 or 3 studs in free agency to round out my roster to being in the hole after the INT'l fiasco. Fell on sword
- lost 2 of my top <25 pitching prospects to year long injuries
Houston goes 6-0 in the last week of the regular season to lock up the division and 1st round bye
It has nothing to do with what you did, only that Nick "planned" to finish second
Why would anyone purposely miss out on a bye???
Whether he did it on purpose or not...I will take the division and my bye and run with it
100% agree. There are at least 3 games (if you sweep) where you risk the chance at injuries. There is always that chance someone might tear a MCL walking from the dugout to the on deck circle.

You beat your pythag by 6 and were way better than I expected you to be (I was thinking 60-70 wins), so well done there sir. With Bryant, Brown, Espinoza, and Valdez you have the makings of a solid and affordable infield for years to come as well. I thought Edgardo Torres would continue his development a little bit more but I guess he is only 18 (even though those IFAs that offseason came with full potential despite being 14-16). If you can get Ruffin and Walsh to take the next step, certainly a dangerous team next year.
