By the time that clip occurs, Ginobli's foot is back off the line from the shot Dak showed.

Was speaking from an angle perspective of how he was blatantly over the plane as the rule states and even touches Waiters before Waiters throws his elbow.

guys go over the line all the time. its almost a subjective call and certainly never called like the rule states

the push on the other hand is a never miss type call.

It looks like Manu made contact with him before the push, i'm assuming that's not very common.

The push when Manu touches Waiters or Waiters elbow?

Either way, Manu violated multiple rules here and if you aint calling the first one, you better not call the second one even though that happens a lot of the time.

I know this is sorta besides the point of the calls vs no calls, but this is so true, the Spurs ended up in a better situation with the no call on Waiters:
Spurs fans can lament that the multiple violations on Waiters weren't called, any one of which would've given San Antonio the ball with a chance for basketball mastermind Gregg Popovich to draw up a play. But as brilliant as Popovich is, no play he could draw up would've given three Spurs a run at the rim with only one Thunder player defending. This is about as good a scenario as you can get.

Guessing old boy right infront of the guy with the ball is about to fall over in about .2 seconds?

The last minute of that game last night was crazy. Apparently a fan grabbed and pulled the arm of the big Center with the state on OKC> How do these dudes keep their cool?

it was a girl, and it looks like she was falling over and grabbing onto anything she could, which happened to be his arm, didn't seem like any weird intent or anything.

my point was i can see them missing the Manu call cause that type of overplaying happens alot and him touching him was in the spirit of play... typically the ref will back them off. even tho that rule states that he should be T'd up.

what Waiters did isn't a basketball play and that type of stuff just doesn't get missed.

it means he's trying to do something basketball related. its a form of movement that refs see all the time so missing whether he was over an imaginary plane or made slight contact is more understandable than what Waiters did as that isn't in any form a basketball play.

But how often is a defender actually making contact with the inbounder?

I have never heard that term used that way and was missed in me giving you a jab.

Flow of the game would have been a better fit there.

Spirit of the game sounds so touchy feely or even emotional for you which is totally off limits in sports.

The NBA - where rules arent exactly rules and where refs go to jail for rigging games.

trifecta - Raps in 6.
Over/under 15.5 a game Wade will whine to the refs.

Plus, if they're not going to call the rule the way it is written, then the inbound defender has a much bigger advantage if he can crowd the inbounder in an illegal way and make "incidental contact". The inbounder, in this case, is only making contact with the defender because the defender was too close and making contact with him (even if the contact occurred right the defender backed off slightly). For every action there is a reaction, and to only call the reaction would be improper.
