There was no one of worth to offer more than slot to. Wasn't going to offer big time money for career minor leaguers.Cnasty wrote:Proud of you. Only took 5 seasons or so.

Re: Rookie Draft
player search and then create a filter. I do a high school and college players who are at least 17 years old. not perfect but gives a good idea.
Re: Rookie Draft
I just learned about the ndlootp website last night...I see how it is, hold out on the new guy. My draft would have been completely different had I known about this prior...for a gew guys at least. But no worries, I have a stranglehold on dead last this year...next year's draft will be a different story

I wouldn't even consider looking at draft info from there.

You need to get the best scout that you possibly can and trust them. Use other factors like "work ethic" and "intelligence" to influence your rankings based on what the scout says overall.

Re: Rookie Draft
btw, you don't need to put all injured guys on the 60 day DL. actually unless you need to free up spots are your 40 man roster, you never need to use 60 day DL. Usually all it does is screw people over for Rule 5.dusters06 wrote:I just learned about the ndlootp website last night...I see how it is, hold out on the new guy. Guy demands 1.5 mil, offer him 2 mil, disappointed with offer and cuts off negotiations. Going to finish school, and hopefully blow out his ACL....good luck Roberto Guerrero!

What was his signability for your team?
That plays a HUGE part.
If he was impossible, you would most likely have to offer double what he wants to sign him.

Re: Rookie Draft
disagree. I've found that if you offer the higher of demand/recommended to even very hard, they will always sign. easy/normal guys will sometimes take less though but the amounts are so small that it's never worth it to save a few bucks.The_Niddler wrote:dusters06 wrote:Guy demands 1.5 mil, offer him 2 mil, disappointed with offer and cuts off negotiations.
